That is just it HP is proprietary, meaning you may have to purchase their battery and their stuff in order to resolve this no third parts things outside of HP will work. Has to be exact for your model I never loved HP myself. I have had a few of them and they are piled high in my repair department. So last resort get their batteries make sure it is from them period. BIOS has to also read this battery in order for it to function when charging. That is all I have to offer on that matter. John

SOURCE: Compaq laptop problem

Hi WV,

I am still testing on the battery and so far no problems with the flash drive in. The slow booting is due I think to Avast updating the virus database at the same time. Otherwise it boots OK. I am getting an error at shutdown "SynTPLpr failed to initialize properly" I have also noticed that I don't need to click on the user login at boot time, only place the cursor over the name and it takes off by itself.

SOURCE: laptop wont boot and the battery and power lights flash

"......no beeps and it is a 3rd party charger for this model of laptop."

That 3rd party adapter could be the problem. Also, try to take out the battery and power it up from AC adapter only.
Ideally, try to find original AC adapter just for testing.

SOURCE: hp compaq nx9110 runs only on battery when it is plugged to AC

It sounds like you have a faulty power jack, and possibly a dead battery as well. You should take it to a person you may know that can order and solder a new one in or take it to your local electronics repair shop. I do repairs like this on a daily basis for my computer business.

SOURCE: HP Pavilion DV5000 battery charging problem

Sounds like you need to calibrate the battery, it is supposed to be done every 3 months. If it is not done, your battery will display the same symptoms are you describe. Yes, this holds true for adding a new battery also.

Here is HP's instructions on how to do it. You want to scroll down to the section called "Calibrate the notebook PC battery".

I turn my tablet on then it switches it self off

Sounds like it does not have enough battery power to stay on. If you have not tried to charge it, you should try that first. If you have, it sounds like it is not getting charged or not holding a charge. Could be bad AC power source, bad charger, bad charger connection or bad battery. Take steps to confirm that each of these are good. If all of these are good, sometimes the tablet can become so discharged that it will not allow itself to charge. When they are in that state, sometimes you can trick them into charging again by repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting the charger as follows: With charger plugged in to AC power source, connect the charger to the tablet. Pay attention to the screen or LED or whatever indicator your tablet has to let you know it is charging. You may see it momentarily indicate charging, or maybe not at all. Then unplug the charger from the tablet then immediately plug it back in and pay attention for the charge indication again. You may have to do this a bunch of times (like 20) until you see the indication that it is charging. When you do get the indication, stop unplugging and re-plugging and let the tablet charge for 24 hours (to a full charge). This trick doesn't always work. Sometimes the battery or charging circuit or an internal connection is bad and no amount of unplugging/re-plugging will fix a hardware problem.

My battery do not keep any charge, but its condition was diagnosticated as "excellent" with specialized programs. The laptop works only with an automatic multi adaptor (Woxter brand). The system reports...

"plugged in, not charging" could a symptom of incompatibility between the charger and the battery.
If this is the case, once you unplug your ASUS ac adapter, the laptop goes off.
Anyway, it's still Ok to use the charger but you need to plug it in all the time.
Here is a little trick that I found that works.
1. Power up the Notebook with the battery installed,if you can.
2. Turn the computer completely off and remove the battery.
3. Power up the Notebook with AC power only (no battery installed).
4. Turn the computer completely off and re-install the battery.
5. Power up the Notebook.
6. The message no longer appears (at least for me it has disappeared).

Sounds like your cable/charger/ computer AC plug in had been pulled, damaged, or the transformer is going out. If you can lat you hands on a similar known good AC cord it would help you trouble shoot the problem, you could eliminate the cord and focus on the computer plug-in. The AC/Charger cord transforms AC to DC to charge you battery and and run you computer. Another cable has to have similar specs (output voltage) as to not damage the components. As to the " plugged in not charging sign appears...", Is the battery old, replacement, does it deplete after using?

Hp pavilion dv-7-1245dx --keep shutting down after a few seconds

If the computer's battery is bad it won't stay on. If the fan is plugged up and over heats quickly, then the computer will shut itself down. I would start with those. Wouldn't be bad to check that your memory chips are in securely as well.

What tip polarity do I use to connect an after market charger?

The short answer is "The tip should be set to positive (+).

I found an old Vector VEC127Y Spotlight. It appeared to be in perfect condition but the battery was dead and there was no charger. I was able to buy a replacement battery at BatteriesPlus for $21 USD. Here is the link for the battery
REPLACEMENT VECTOR VEC127Y BATTERY
I also purchased a Universal A/C adapter to use as a charger at BatteriesPlus for $17 USD. Their site does not list it yet but here is the manufacturers link. Please note the original battery was rated 6Ah. The replacement is only rated for 5Ah. Which means one less Amp hour (Ah). Which means a shorter run time, after charging, than the original battery had. Otherwise they are equal.
UNIVERSAL AC ADAPTER
I installed the new battery. I set the AC Adapter to 6V and installed the largest of the seven adapter tips that came with the charger, with TIP set to be positive (+). I opened the battery compartment of the spotlight and disconnected both the red (positive +) and black (negative -) battery leads from the battery. I then plugged the adapter tip of the Universal AC Adapter into the spotlight and plugged the AC Adapter plug to a power outlet. With a multimeter I tested the polarity of the spotlight battery leads while charging. I was able to confirm that the Adapter TIP should be set to positive (+). After reconnecting the spotlight battery leads and setting the AC Adapter to charge, I have a perfectly great spotlight in full working order.

Motorola S9 headset won't charge batteries

This might work if you aren't using the ORIGINAL charger. I had this problem when my cat chewed through the original Motorola charger. I figured my Blackberry charger would work fine, but it didn't. I then discovered that my Blackberry charger was 700mAH and the broken charger was only 550mAH. When I found another charger with the proper power it charged. I also found that it worked when plugging it into my computer with a standard mini USB. I hope this helps.

Dell Inspiron 2200 Charger Malfunction

Try to turn off the computer and remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook. Turn on the computer with just the charger plugged in. If it doesnt turn on. you may have a bad power port.

If it has no power/charging issue since that happened except that the indicator light doesnt turn on when you plug in the charger, you may just need a bios update. Click here. That's the bios update for the inspiron 2200 from dell's website. You should have at least 30% charge on the battery and the ac adapter should be plugged in so you can run it. The computer will restart and will come back normally after this. I'd suggest that you backup your files before running this.
