Remove lid, squeeze hinge back into shape and refit, adjusting screws in rear of hinge bracket as you do.

SOURCE: We just bought a chest

Most likely it isn't the suction but moisture on your seal freezing to the frame. Suggest a putty knife with a hair dryer blowing hot air on the blade and working it around the seal.

SOURCE: I have a GE chest freezer and the exterior green

Is this just a "Power-on" light to let you know it's plugged in and has power? This is probably just a "neon" (although the actual gas inside is hydrogen for the green color) bulb and sometimes they will do the flickering thing literally forever. In a way it's a good thing as it makes you look at it. If it really concerns you, or if it is actually a warning that something is going wrong (it should say in the manual, you DO have the manual don't you?) have it fixed under the warranty.

All you need is the model number

It gives you a list of all parts you can buy to replace what's broken, as for the frost try placing a sheet of plastic over the insulation, under the the plastic cover to keep moisture and humidity out of the insulation.

Someone broke into our chest tearing the lock up, how can we secure the lid to keep other thief's out. 15 ft chest freezer located in the garage.

Chest freezers have the condenser coil in the side walls do not drill into the sdes to install locks without knowing exactly where the coIL is. I would think a locksmith could install a lock for you. That or secure your garage better.

Wind caught the lid on small chest freezer when it was being moved now its broken

As long it didn't get bent up it should still work fine, you may just have to lift it on and off instead of open and close.

Chest freezer ice is filling up around the top of the inner lid

Turn it off, remove the stock, tap the sides with a block of wood and scrape to the bottom of the freezer with a dustpan and scoop it out. Refit the stock and switch back on. Takes 10 minutes. Check the lid seals properly once defrosted and check it's not accidentally in superfreeze mode.

How do you activate the flash defrost function on a Kenmore 16082 model? I can't find any flash defrost button.

Hi

Not all these models were fitted with a flash defrost plunger, if fitted it is inside the lid on the left hand side.
You will need to remove all the product from the freezer and store it elsewhere.
1. Pull out the flash defrost button
2. Put a chock of wood or similar to prevent the lid from closing (if the lid closes it will stop the flash defrost)
3. Wait until all the ice has melted then clean out the casing, some of these models have a drain plug in the base, (put a shallow tray under the outlet to catch the water) others you will need to mop out the water.
4. Push in the flash defrost button and wait for a couple of hours and then you can reload the freezer.

If there is no flash defrost button then follow the above instructions after you have emptied the freezer, all you need to do is switch off and unplug the freezer then go to 2. above. When finished plug back in and reload.

Regards

Gordon

Want to access condensor coils to perform annual cleaning. GE does not indicate where the coils are or how to access. GE FCM 15PU WW

Good day,
You can't. They are bonded to the inner walls of the machine and totally inaccessible. Normal for most freezers.
