Question about Hitachi 43GX01B 43" Rear Projection Television
I would look for something real simple here. The problem appears to be in your component cables (I would suspect one being bad or connected to a wrong jack). If they are connected properly, try moving them a bit to see if the blue haze comes and goes or try different cables.

I'm pretty sure my component cables are bad. i plugged them in and now i get a red haze. That mystery is solved but i still have a problem.
I connected my s-video cable, and i get the same problem i was getting with the composites. The blue is weak. the picture quality is good, but it is dominated by reds and greens. i have adjusted the blue knob inside the set and that puts a blue flush on everything.
Also, i forgot to mention this in my original post, but my rear projection mirror was broken when i got the set, but was fixed prior to this problem starting. (fixing the mirror was why the TV was open in the first place, and then i cleaned everything.)
I recently discovered by service menu. How do i go in there and adjust the colors so that the blue is stronger? Is there a table of recommended service menu settings somewhere that i can use?
