Unable to connect with Vista Windows to a lexmarkz22 printer. Printer is an old version

Try installing it in safe mode.

To go to safe mode, do the following:

Restart and tap F8. Use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode with networking and hit enter. Install the driver from there and follow the on-screen instructions.

If no go, check the device manager of any question mark. There might be some outdated drivers that cause this problem. You can use RadarSync (free version) to scan your computer for outdated drivers.

After fixing all driver related issues, try installing the printer again.

According to the manufacturers this printer is not compatible with Windows 7

however recently they have updated the windows vista driver to also work with windows 7

Please click on the link below and choose windows vista 32 or vista 64 based on the version you have and download the driver you need.

Please turn off your printer / remove the usb cable uninstall / remove the old driver file and then install the downloaded new driver connect the printer when it is specified to do so and enjoy using your old printer with windows 7. :)

Before you connect the printer via the USB cable to your netbook, check the version of the operating system(e.g. Mac or Windows - XP, Vista or Windows 7). If you are using Vista or Windows 7, check if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by going to the Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. NOTE: USE VISTA DRIVER IN WINDOWS 7. FOR MAC, ONLY WORKS UP TO 10.3 version.
You can download the Lexmark X1180 driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/9W56vE. Click on "change OS" to select your operating system (see image):


Then click on "FILTER" (see image):


Click on the driver under "Recommended Downloads". Download, execute the file and follow the instructions in the software.

Unfortunately, the Lexmark P3150 printer is not compatible with Windows 7 and Vista operating systems. There are no drivers available for Vista and Windows 7. For Microsoft, the printer only works with old versions of operating systems like Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003. Hope I can assist you more on this.

Make sure you uninstall the older version first and then install the Vista version.

what process did you do when upgrading windows Vista? If your going to upgrade with Windows Vista, Old version of windows will rename to windows.old so you can't access this old version because windows vista will take the priority, so all your program will disappear. You need to purchase another software for microsoft office.I hope it will enlightened your mind.anyway there are some process of making it possible for dual boot.if you are in need to experience windows vista at the same time windows xp.
