As i said the camera will not turn on and when i plug the charger in it, it doesn't charge.

and i didn't drop it or anything...it just turned off so i thought the batt died, but never charged =/

If charger is OK, check the fuse on the board.(DA-039)
I fixed power problem by replacing fuse.
On the board, there are F1, F2, .....
These are fuses.
Please make sure that charger is OK and you can confirm charger by attaching it to any other similar Sony camera or attache another charger with camera.
Usually charger gets defective and user thinks that camera is fried.

My camera stopped working right befre Thnaksgiving--within an hour of previous use! An hour after I had taped one of my son's activities (with no problem!!) I tried to record another event, and the cam wouldn't turn on! I thought my battery had died, though I had jsut charged it, but BOTH my batteries are fully charged...I use a free standing plug-in charger, not the stand/base charger that came with the camcorder. I know the batteries work because I was able to use them on a friend's camcorder...she has the same one. Is there an easy fix??? This really is a terrible time for it to die...right before the holidays!!!
I have the same problem...the camera was working pefectly for a long time, now for no apparent reason it won't turn on and I can't charge it either directly or via the cradle./...any ideas?
