Dvd playback My Samsung combo used to play my PAL region dvd's (I'm in the UK) and for some reason it will not play them now, - I went away on holiday and left my brother house sitting and since coming back it wont play them and he has no idea what he has done!! I get an on-screen message saying "this disc cannot be played please check the regional code of the disc" not all discs say this, it WILL play some discs. Is there anything I can do or try? Thanks

Could be your using the wrong disc.

SOURCE: DVD player isn't loading and playing properly

Since it will play eventualy, I'd suspect a dirty lens. Open up the unit and carefully clean the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Also, try a music CD. If the CD works flawlessly but DVDs still fail occasssionally, the optics are starting to fail and will need to be replaced.

power on your dvd and press setting as you can view on your tv monitor then check the displayed carefully look for dvd regional settings and change it where you live.

try blowing or its how you swipe your cds you should swipe up and down by a cd cleaner that might work
