How to check ink levels 4180

My HP 4180 is missing the bottom half on the occasional line. (not all of them) It is using a genuine HP cartridge. On my previous HP printer, I used to be able to clean the jets but I don't know how to do so on this model. I don't think the ink is running because the cartridge is not that old,out but how do I check

SOURCE: can't find tool box to check ink level - HP 6310 using Vista 2007

doesnt matter most printers have a feature of their own to check ink levels.
press the setup button on the printer and scroll down(with the arrow buttons) till you get tools press ok and now scroll through until you get ink level and select it by pressing the ok button, walla you should have your ink levels in front of you.

Now about the hp solution centre/hp director icon on your desktop (if you have installed the software).
Click on settings and click on printer toolbox and now check your estimated ink levels it will show the ink levels of the printer cartridges.

SOURCE: Hp office jet 4215xi how to check ink level

HI

you may get the ink levels in several ways,

1) printing a test page.
2)if you got HP solution Center with the software cd of the printer ans it is installed in the computer, you can easily check the ink levels there.
3)sometimes ink levels option is available in the priner drivers in the printers and faxes in the control panel.
4)right clik the printer icon and then goto properties and then you will find tabs to check the ink levels,it might be in the service this device under the maintenance tab.

Feel free to contact me if there's any query.

Hello, make sure the golden contacts from your cartridges are clean. If you say your cartridges are Genuine (OEM) and not for use check the valability date on the cartridge (just above the golden contacts). If your cartridges are clean (I am referring to the contacts), OEM (made by HP) and still in the valability range you can take them to the reseller you both them and ask for a refunt or a replace.

Our printer is a hp 7200 ,refil ink cartridges, and because we didn't use hp ink all printing is shut down, can you help? Thank you ****

Unfortunately there is no work around for this.
All HP printers requires genuine HP ink cartridges, also refills are not allowed.
HP ink cartridges has a mechanism only compatible with HP printers that sends a signal to the machine when a non HP ink cartridge is used. I highly suggest you use a genuine HP ink cartridge, there is also a high chance if that your printhead or printing mechanism might be damaged.
Check for ink leaks right away, also make sure to clean the printhead with lint free cloth and use bottled water only. Make sure not to touch the electrical contacts found on the bottom of the print head.

Cant remeber the ink cartrige #

Hello, there are two ink cartridges for this printer, 336 Black & 337 Color, the cheapest way to buy these is at costo,Please do not refill your old ink cartridges as the printer will on most ocassions tell you to remove the faulty cartridge, however you may get away with a refill only once. I changed to a Brother MFC it was easier to install, prints faster,it has fax, scan, copy phto capture, you will need to buy use printer lead for this machine as it does not come supplied, the bonus of having the Brother MFC 235C is that the 4 ink cartridges are half the price of one HP Black Cartridge, check out www.999inks.co.uk

Alignment

Remove both the cartridges from the printer and check the expiry dates on both cartridges, if any of the cartridge is expired then change the cartridge and check the result. If the cartridges are not expired then check the ink levels present in the cartridges from the HP Solution Center. If the ink levels are good then clean the copper contacts of the cartridges with a soft cotton cloth and power cycle the printer.

  1. Turn the product off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the product.
  3. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord to the product.
  4. Turn the product on.
Now insert the cartridges and align them, after alignment page prints then scan the page.

If it still gives alignment failed message then remove the cartridges and reset the printer and check for the result.

Inkjet refills

hi,

as you are using a refilled cartridge, it is causing this problem. the thickness of ink in a hp genuine cartridge and a refilled cartridge varies. and also the refilled cartridge may make your printer faulty. so it is good to try with a new hp genuine ink cartridges.

thanks and regards
