Use your hand and tap the tube going to the used toner bag. Does it sound full? sometimes the toner will clog the tube and back up. You need to knock it loose so that the waste toner will empty. Also check the waste toner bag switch, it may have gotten knocked out of position when removing it the first time. If so just reposition and / or reshape.

Did you replace the waste (used) toner cartridge or the empty toner cartridge? These copiers have 2 "cartridges" .... one is waste (used) toner, the other is "new" toner for copying / printing etc. Some newer copiers have All in One units....Drum, New Toner, Waste (used) Toner. If you replaced the Waste Toner container (or dumped it) that should reset the code or error message.
