How to scan for new chanels

1. Install the MP Navigator EX software located on the disc that came with the printer. If you don't have the disc, you can obtain the software on the Canon website.
2. Select "Start" > "Programs" > "Canon Utilities" > "MP Navigator EX" > "MP Navigator EX".
3. Select "Photos/Documents".
4. Open the top of the scanner and place the document you wish to scan on the glass.
5. Set preferences on the screen as needed. Select the "Scan" button when ready.

You can select from the various scanning methods.

Windows XP only) compliant application software and the Control Panel (Windows Vista and

I found these directions from your Canon PIXMA MX310 User's Manual online (page 24). Other functions are available for reading.

To make sure you have got the correct program that you are using, uninstall all associated programs from your computer thru "Programs and Features" that can be found in Control Panel. Then, you may download your printer's drivers and softwares thru this LINK. Make sure to download the appropriate version for your Windows.



NOTE: Keep in mind that the drivers and softwares are limited to the manufacturer's release.

It may be looking for a USB connection for the scan function. Have you used the Control Center software to reconfigure the scanning settings? If so, perhaps trying a Menu->LAN->reset and then starting the setup from scratch would help. Or just plugging it in via USB to your PC or Mac.

I had this problem and searched the internet for hours looking for an answer and was given the initial same reply as this and it does not work. To solve this problem all you simply need to do is press source button on the controller followed by pressing the DTV/USB option. All your digital channels will come back to you and you will find the menu setup options you are looking for!!!

What OS do you have installed? Did you install the full-featured software or the Canon drivers? These are available here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp780#DriversAndSoftware . If you installed a generic driver from the OS, uninstall it and unplug the data cable (USB) before installing the Canon drivers. (The OS driver will work for the printer but not the scanner.) Next place the document face down on the glass or face up if you have a automatic document feeder.

Always do the first few scans from the computer. (The full software will hear the scanner buttons but you need a few things first. There are scan icons in the software that need to be programmed for the destinations and default locations. The monitoring program also must be running before the scan buttons on the all-in-one will work.) Launch the MP Navigator (double-click on the icon or from the Start Menu) and then the black & white or color scan. Set your resolution and contrast. Adjust these as needed and then Scan and OK. (You can do preview scans and then press an on-screen Scan button.) Remember the settings that give good results; you can use these settings to help you set the destinations and defaults for the scan buttons.

If you have Windows XP or later, you can scan without the MP Navigator in Paint (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint). Then choose File > Import from Camera or Scanner. In Vista and Win7, there is also Windows Fax and Scan that can acquire scans (New Scan). Vista also includes Photo Gallery with a similar feature; the program is available for Win7 in the Microsoft Live package.

Here is the procedure for auto tuning. Pleas go through it. Connect the antenna to the rear antena socket marked as &% ohms antena and continue.

If you have already run the Auto Tuner as part of the quick setup earlier in this guide, please

skip ahead to "Channel Summary" to continue setting up your television. In Auto Tuner Setup,

the TV automatically scans through all available channels, memorizing the active ones and

skipping over blank ones or channels with weak signals. This means you scan using the

CHANNEL +/- buttons), you will receive only clear active channels.

I have the samne problem, hoiwever when I press the menu/setup button it says setup on the display but nothing changes on the tv, it does not have a navigation menu, any suggestions on what to do to remove the progressive scan from my screen
