Are you able to get a picture on the tv when using the original A/V cable?
Also, are your controllers syncing properly with the PS3?

  • Anonymous May 18, 2012

  • Anonymous May 18, 2012

OK JUST BROUGHT THE THING DOWSTARS AND PLUGGED INTO SKY BOX AND GOT SAME RESULT SO IM THINKING ITS THE HDMI SOCKET ON THE TV

  • Anonymous May 18, 2012

To be honest the best solution at this point would be to contact Sony support, provide them with everything you have already done. Chances are they will offer to replace/repair it. The other options would be to use the original composite A/V cable or component cable.

  • Make sure the system is off.
  • Hold down the Power Button for 5-6 seconds - until you hear the second beep.
This resets the video settings to defaults (standard video output).
Power up the PS3 again and it should auto-detect the hdmi at this point.

If that does not work use the original audio/video cable that came with the system, power it on, then adjust the video settings and try the hdmi cable again.

    Connect ps2 to tv

Most new TV's are coming out with only HDMI inputs. If your TV has only HDMI, and a (cable) in, Then there are 2 ways to connect your PS2. 1) Buy a rca(audio/video) to HDMI converter. These are available on Ebay in several different designs.2) Buy a PS2 cable ready coaxial converter available from Ebay, or your local gamestop store. Remember, the cords for the PS2 and the PS3 are EXACTLY the same.

Trying to use ps3, even after using hdmi cable on input 6 or 7, it says check your device output and i see green lines on my screen?

    hi
There maybe some problem with your TVs resolution. ps3 outputs full hd high resolution video(1080p) through its HDMI. May be your TV is not supporting that resolution. Connect ps3's component video out to your TV's component video input and then try. if it ask for any resolution selection. select 720p or 1080i, above that resolution your TV will not support. Your tv is hd ready one, not full hd. ps3 's HDMI out is full hd (1080p).
    or try this
Connect your ps3 to any full hd tv and then goto video setup of ps3. change resolution to 1080i (down scaling ). then connect to your TV via HDMI. surly u will get the video.
    ok

Why my hdmi cable keeps saying unsupported signal. check your device output

use a normal cable to connect to you tv and check the resolution that the hdmi is trying to output. if it wont display with the normal one then you will have to reset the video output system.

PS3 No signal to the TV

To solve this, when the ps3 is in standby (solid red light), just hold the power button. It should beep on, then beep again in about 5 seconds. This will automatically search for the optimal audio video output. if if beeps on then turns off, just try again, it takes 1 or 2 tries sometimes. the reason this is happening is because your ps3 is set to one AV output, ex. composite(red yellow white), HDMI, and then you changed the cable to a different one. another way to fix it is plug both cables, HDMI and composite, into the tv and ps3, then go to settings and change the output to the desired one.

My ps3 only works with hdmi cables?

Did you try holding down the Power button until you heard 3 beeps? It is not uncommon for the video output to exceed the resolution of different television. This hard reset feature was added to troubleshoot such a problem, factory resetting the video settings.

Hdmi connection doesnt work on ps3

By you saying that you have a new cable & tv, I assume you had the console conected tru composite before (red, white & yellow rca cable). This is what you need to do: Connect the PS3 to the tv with HDMI cable only, do not use the composite cable at the same time, reset your PS3 by pressing and holding the power button, when the power is off, for about 7 to 10 secconds, it would cicle from power off, on, then off again, it would also give you 2 sets of beeps, after the power is off, turn your tv on, make sure you select HDMI input on it, then turn your PS3 on, the console would set itself to the best resolution available on your tv. Give it a try!
