Have a similar problem and I have inserted a pin it's working but speaker not bringing sounds
Hello Eric, nice 9 year old, HYJACK. Sep 14, 2021 from 2012.year.
Eric your PC is not Ms. Rebeca's nec versa p8210.., or may be close, IDK cant see yours.
no country told (sold to) nor what OS it runs, XP and Vista are the 2,.
First is (usage ) "connections, can be many or just 1"
there are many causes of bad sound, (yes sound is very complex due to so many choices in fact)
first off do the internal speakers fail ? both left and right side? next is.
and do 1$ ear buds fail inserted to the 3.5mm phone jacks fail.
Volume turned up for sure !!!
Do you have USB phones? or USB speakers connected to this PC or bluetooth phones or speakers here?
NO OS TOLD can we guess windows?, and if yes, which one (start+run+winver) read it? tell it first.
not telling OS invites vast wrong answers, ok? is that clear on versions?
as will bogus OS upgrades not supported by your NEC maker or the sound chip at HAND.
i guess you never seen a PC with 3 or more types of sound music playing devices at one time connected.
that is managed by 2 ways, using the task bar sound ICON,,,right clicked and manage sound settings. bingo 1.
then bingo2 (drivers wrong)
in device manager, the sound chips must be showing as healthy. MUST !!!
if shows ok there
we go to control panel again and click (SOUND)
make sure TAB is set to PLAY BACK
my PC has 4 things there, local inside PC speakers, 3.5mm-phones or USB1 (vast things) or bluetooth2.
what you do is pick what you want to work there, or it will be dead. for sure.
ON mine right now USB is wired to high end DAC sound system optical, see? how versatile sound is?
one top cause of this (2?) is upgrading the OS when NEC told you not to do that, because w7 to w10 is not supported at all or not even just sound.
number2, you loaded wrong drivers to this PC not from NEC>(now are infected?)
now some facts on OLD PCs for sure NEC or Sony from Japan both are. nippon electric company .
first off , how old is the PC.
super old with only 512MB or RAM, on board new. over 11 years old.
I carbon 14 date all PCs before I fix them, or waste HUGE time or cash doing the Impossible. OK?
NEC has no books,
Posts on line are for 2006, 2008 and 2010 but 2006 is it. 15 years old TODAY 2021
Nec web site is downhttps://www.nec-computers.com.au/
see that dead. never is that good owning any PC the maker went DEAD for Support.
OMG (oh,my golly)
2006 posts on this old dog, 15 years old. I call this the smoking gun lacking NEC BOOKs to find. ever.
https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/...
all support links dead, that I can find.
here is their new NEC offical page, good luck navigating that mess.
country is ask first and guess what not told here first. sad no?
all Versa Pnnn are zero support , now, in fact they pretend it never exited.
Your PC came with CD back in 2006
and has the drivers on it for XP or has VISTA drivers too, 2007 is VISTA year Jan1.
lost the CD is not good , now that NEC erased all support. for ever.
NO MS support
NO NEC support, now, it ended long ago.
NO CD now lost
doomed.? of drivers lost
if I was desperate ,(not ever ) ID use device manager, and find the CHIP ID, (ven_xx, and DEV_zzzz code)
or use free HWinfo32.exe , free and portable ( google it) run it and find maker of sound chips name and ID codes
learn that one PC say a VERSA P8201 has submodels (not told) that sold new with 3 different sound systems and chip sets. and drum roll not the same on all countries not told by you, yours. sad for sure.
learn that fact first.
then use Hwinfo32 to find what it is, then we go to the chip maker side (vast maker) and get the driver.
from them. 50% chance it works.
names like Realtek
IDS
analog devices
yamaha.
vast makers of chips DIED< or were bought out and killed by new owners.

subwoofer ! a shock to me that . (and tells me the only driver that work are NEC from NEC or the CD you lost)
now let me do the hit list.? (dead driver) topic , just that.
device manger for VISTA? shows sound chip dead, if yes, connect this PC to the internet, now, and let MS plug and play work then on the driver right click sound (device manager) and update driver,
ok fails (hey MS told you even XP ended in 2014 dead for support why not believe them.?
now use the CD from NEC day1 new PC, and install the driver to device manager that way,
ok lost the CD sure. at 15 years old who keeps CDs for that long but you did that to yourself oops
so go to NEC.com oops no Versa support not, ended LONG LONG AGO! facts are facts,
so leaving one cure, google finds drivers, that are infected, bingo you lose, 999/100 tries you get infected.
I close my eyes now and never ever read email from you,(dig?)_
most of these PC are in the land fill, now that all support ended, this is try an for XP that must and did end.
the only clues left in the world are XP or Vista. 2006 and 2007 what you have there is NOT TOLD yet.
no country told
some have different sound chips side, oops. not told
one of the hardest PC to track on earth , thanks for the fun trying (we like hard cases) new PC are easy.
seem to me you are the last person on earth trying for P8210. RIP< NEC.

Joelmar, you are incorrect. This model was also sold with xp, I'm typing this on one. If you still have the original Hdd and have not formatted the recovery partition, boot up the laptop whilst holding the f11 key. This will start NEC recovery and allow you to reinstall the system, drivers included. Back up first!

SOURCE: Replace CMOS battery
First you need to take the cover off your laptop and locate the cmos battery which looks like an oversize battery watch. With everything unplugged it just pulls out, note which side of the battery goes however. Place the new one in put everything back together and power the computer up. When it powers up it will finally get to the screen that says press "F1" for setup or "F2" to continue. Press F1 and you will get to your set up screen. You can go through each screen and select F5 which is the default factory settings or scoll across the top to the last screen which will give you the option of resetting all the settings to factory default with just pressing one of the F keys once only. Once you do that, just shutdown your computer and restart and it will start as normal. It may go through the F1 and F2 screen one more time but just press F2 and continue. After you log off the next time all your changes should be good. Let me know if I can help you in any other way.
