It sounds like an empty cartridge.
check your cartridges, it may be time to replace them.
You have to give more information like did you try a print test and if so did it print ok? have you tried to have someone send you a test fax from different numbers?
If it is a color printer, try printing just grayscale or black& white. It is is already set to print just b/w, try printing in color. Basically you may be out of ink. Run the printer utility to clean the heads and see if anything changes. A new set of cartridges should fix the problem, I believe.
Hope this helps...
Scanner failure will not let you to make copies nad scan but you will be able to print from computer and receive fax.
Even then try the steps mentioned bellow:
Remove both the ink cartridges from the All-In-One. Unplug the power cord from the All-In-One as well as the power outlet. Now move the carriage (carriage is the one which holds the cartridge) Too and Fro till you feel the carriage is moving smoothly. Then insert the cartridges close the access door. Plug the power cord directly to a wall outlet without surg protector (If possible connect it to a different power outlet) Before connecting the power cord to the All-In-One press and hold the # and no 6 button and then insert the power cord, do not release the keys until you see a message a reset (if the screen goes blank then release the keys and turn the power on) Now try printing Printing from computer,
If you are able to print from computer you should be able to receive faxes.
Try printing a test fax.
Press Menu/Setup> Then press the right arrow key to locate Tools> Then Press Ok> Again press the right arrow key to locate Run Fax Test> And press OK
i suspect you are correct in cleaning the unit.inkjets if not used often enough the ink will clog the print head. usually the easiest solution is to keep cleaning unit it works again. other wise to clean the print head manually requires the unit to be completely dissambled. it takes a long time to fix it this way. or if replacement costs are acceptable you can replace it. i would just give it a dozen or so more cleanings.
