My bizhub 250 said the drum needed to be replaced, which i did, however the printing is so light and the machine still says to replace the drum. What am I missing?

The drum counter must be reset by using the service mode. But that is not your bigger issue here. The drum section is part of the Imaging Unit. When you change the drum section you are also suppose to change the developer (starter) in the developer section. So when you reset the drum count this also "resets" the atdc (automatic toner density control) ratio which must be recalibrated using the F8 mode. The 2 are tied together. You can try doing F8 without replacing the developer but this is just asking for trouble. Just resetting the drum count will mean you have at least a 50% chance of getting a COF32 code which is an atdc sensor failure because of the ratio mis-match that will occur.
You either need to find Imaging Unit rebuilding instructions or have a service tech come out and take care of this properly.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

I have a Sharp model AL-1642CS and the drum light is on. I replace the drum not to long ago and it worked fine.. maybe 2 weeks ago. Now the light is back on. I swapped out a drum from another working...

You press # * C * in that order. The machine will go into diagnostics. You then enter either 24 or 27, then enter 06 and 07. Those will reset drum and developer counts. Off hand I don't remember if the first number you enter is 24 or 27, but you will get a maint clear message. 06 and 07 are the second number you enter, one for drum reset one for dev reset.

I changed the drum and there's still a message saying order drum....is there a way to reset that?

(from Okidata's support site)

After replacing the image drum cartridge, reset the drum counter to keep a correct count of the number of pages printed on the image drum.
1. Turn the printer on while holding the MENU 1/Menu 2 button. USERMNT displays in the control panel window.
2. Press MENU 1/Menu 2 three times. DRUM CNT RESET displays.
3. Press ENTER. The counter will reset and the printer will go ON-LINE.
