This error occurs sometimes with the player. Please format your player via your computer so as to solve it.

Formatting will erase all data on this player. Make sure you have backup all data on this player before execute the formatting.
  1. Connect your player to your computer.
  2. Double click My Computer at the desktop on your computer. You will find an icon for your player.
  3. Right click your mouse to select Format... in the popup menu.
    • If you can not find the Format... option after you right click the icon, please double click the icon, you will find another icon named Internal Storage, right click this icon to select Format.... You may get a warning message, click the OK button to start the formatting.
  4. Click the Start button. The formatting will auto start. You will get a message Format complete when the formatting is finished.
  5. Transfer again your backup data as you did to the player.

With memory card installed the camera says nocard.i replaced it with new card it said card error

Hi. Have you tried formatting the cards in the camera? If this fails you could try formatting each one in PC by right clicking the card's icon in the My Computer screen, the reformat them in the camera too. Hope this helps

Will not format, put new card in, screen says memory card requires formatting. at the bottom of screen it says cancel and continue. when i try to continue it will not.

Hello. I don't know for sure what size card you have but the maximum limit for this camera is probably 2GB. If you have a card slot or some other way to conect this card directly to your computer you can format it there by right clicking My Computer if it's a good card (some new ones are bad others have been damaged) it should show up as a storage device if it does right click it and choose format. NTFS should work for your camera. Whenever you remove any device like this click the safely remove hardware icon to stop its activity before unpluging.

1st time set up for sd memory card on sharp xe-a203 cash register, i keep getting error code e-sd-99. i've retried it 3 times and keep getting this error. the card is 128mb.

According to my manual, the cards should be formatted on a Windows PC. Insert the card into any computer and wait for it to be recognized. Access the card's memory by clicking on the icon in the "My Computer" (or equivalent) window. BE SURE THERE IS NOTHING ON THE CARD THAT YOU WILL LOSE. This process will erase everything on the card. Right-click on the card's icon. Click "Format." Set formatting options to FAT memory. Set the allocation size to 16. Start formatting. Double-check your manual to be sure for the specifics on your exact model of calculator.

Cannot format memory card

Hi Mr.
  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from or
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

You can Format your device by using the Sansa Media Converter, Windows Media Player, or manually through "My Computer". Best and easiest way is through "My Computer".

Connect your player. Go to "My Computer" > right click "Sansa e200" > drop down to "Format".

Or do it on Windows Media Player. Connect the player and open up Windows Media Player. Go to the "Sync" tab. Click on the arrow underneath it. Drop down to "Sansa e280" and then to "Format". This can only been done in Windows Media Player 11.

Or go to format under one of the options of the Menu Bar on the Sansa Media Converter. How-to videos. Look under "Sansa MP3 Player" option 8. "Windows Media Player 11" option 9. For how-to methods provided by sandisk on formatting.

    Formatting Memory Card

did you format your card? try going into the set-up menu on your camera and you should find a format option - THIS WILL ERASE ANYTHING YOU MAY HAVE HAD ON THE if you have anything on there use a memory card reader and transfer it to your computer before formatting. If the formatting doesn't fix the card error message you could try formatting it on your computer (if you have a pc, go to 'my computer' and under 'removable devices' you should see the memory card, right click and choose format - i don't know the process for macs, but i would guess do a ctrl+click on the memory card when it appears on the desktop). If that still doesn't work the card is probably corrupt and you may need a new one.

Download the drivers from the net or right click on the removable drive there it should say FORMAT click an follow screen Prompts

    Sd card will not format

The camera has a limit of a 2 GB card , its built into the camera hardware.

    Formatting and error codes

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
