Our OkiC5500 laser printer (sorry it didn't give me that option in the products bar) began printing a yellow stripe down the left hand side of our pages. The K toner was low so we thought that might be the problem, replaced it, but still prints out the yellow. Thought maybe printing out a bunch of copies might purge whatever's causing it but this didn't work either. I also have the maintenance cycle option clicked in the printer options but still no good. Anyone know what's causing this and/or how we can fix it?

Re: Oki C5500 printing a yellow stripe
1) clean LED heads with Alcohol swab. 2) Check fuser rollers for dirt, smudges. Clean with swab. 3) Remove all toners/drums and check for spilled toner. Vacuum or wipe clean. 4) Check tansfer belt for marks, stray toner, creases. 4) Re-seat toner and drum cartridges.

try cleaning the LED heads. These are located in the lid of the printer, they are facing you when you lift the lid up. They form the latent image on the drums and any dirt on them will give the symptoms you describe.
I am presuming the rest of the page prints the correct colour and this is an area in the direction of feed that is missing yellow. Try swapping the yellow and magenta drum positions and then the green text should come out a very dark blue colour. if it does then the fault is with the YELLOW drum, if there is still a noticeable Cyan stripe still then the fault will be with the LED head or engine control board.
