Have u recently changed ur ink cartridge ? If so the printer is printing an alignment page . Turn it off then on , so it prints the alignment page. load the alignment page on the scanner glass and press the "Scan" button to complete the alignment. Once the alignment has completed the alignment page will not be printed again until you change the next cartridge. See your user manual for details.

SOURCE: My printer keeps printing the test page every time it's switched on

I had the same problem and it was driving me crazy until I did this. Please follow exactly and IN ORDER.

1. Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds. Turn it on again

2. Let the printer print the test page.

3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. DO NOT turn off the printer while disconnecting the USB cable.

4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer. The ON light will flash as the page is being scanned.

5. Remove the test page when the ON light is steady.

6. Finally, turn off the printer and wait another 10 seconds. Then turn it on again. No more printing test pages! Yay!

(You may now reconnect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.)

SOURCE: keep printing test sheets

A lot of HP printers print a page to enable the print head alignment and calabration. This normally orcurs when a cartridge has been changed. If the alignment page fails then it will reprint alignment page until it can align.

So, you need to get that page it prints and place it on the glass and press scan, then it will complete alignment and be ready to rock.

SOURCE: Printing problem with HP Laserjet P2015 printer

This can be an issue with one of the faulty sensor across the printer.
Please check if you are able to print from tray 1, e.g. a configuration page.
A config page can be printed by holding the Green Button and releasing it as soon as the Triangle light comes on. This would take approx 5 secs.
If the printer is able to print from tray 1, then it could be an issue with the tray 2 pickup sensor.
Check if the tray 2 pickup sensor ( a black plastic piece to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller) is moving freely (front and back), also check if tray 2 pickup roller is not able to rotate completely.

If the tray 2 sensor is not moving freely and of the pickup roller is rotating completely, then reseat the pickup roller.

Normal use with good media causes wear resulting in the need to periodically clean or replace the pickup roller. Additionally, the use of poor media might require more frequent replacement of the pickup roller. Replacing the pickup roller Complete the following to replace the pickup roller:

CAUTION: Failure to complete this procedure might damage the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and allow the printer to cool.

Hi, Wonder can you help my printer keeps printing off test page everytime it is turned on. this is only happening since i changed the cartridge, never did this before. thanks

Hi,

Your printer is printing alignment pages, because the cartridge alignment was not completed since you replaced them. Follow the below steps to complete alignment.

  1. Turn the printer OFF and then turn back ON.
  2. Wait until the alignment sheet prints out fully.
  3. Place the alignment test page over the scanner glass.
  4. Press start color scan button.
  5. The printer "power" light will start flashing, indication the alignment process.
  6. After the printer stops flashing, turn off and then ON the printer. It will not print any test pages further.
We need to run alignment test every-time while we replace ink cartridges.

HP will not print. It printed the test sheet.

If it printed a test sheet, then the problem is in your program..
go to your printer and faxes folder, (same place as youfound the print test page)
set the HP printer to Default
Try to print from Word or Notepad, when the printer select window pops up make sure the HP is showing, and selected.
If you have more than one printer installed on your Computer, but only one printer, delete all the printers you are not using..

Keeps printing test sheet

I just had the same problem after putting in a new black cart. Try this:
  • Open HP Director
  • On the main window select Settings>Print Settings>Printer Toolbox
  • Open the Configuration Tab
  • At bottom right click "Factory Settings" button then "Apply"
A configuration warning popped up explaining that 'd be changing settings used by the driver. I clicked ok. AOK. (I did do an alignment just before this, but it's probably not required to fix the prob.
