The tv came with a black pedestal which swivels approx 180 degrees. The pedestal sits on top of the cabinet. I have bought a new cabinet and now want to transfer the pedestal and tv to the new cabinet. I know how to remove the tv form the pedestal but the pedestal is stuck to the top of the cabinet and I can't figure out how to separate it. I can't see any screws or magnets holding it together. Has anyone any ideas? Thanks
I can only figure that the cabinet is Not part of the TV's normal design and it has been just sitting on this cabinet for a long while?
If this is so then it has by weight and heat sweated itself onto the top, synthetic feet are made of complex materials including oils which get exuded then form a quite powerful glue action, also that spray polish has baulking agents to make it look good in use these act as glue.
If this top is glass then its pretty well resistent to most things, try windolene glass spray its safe and dissolves many things on glass as a cleaner (or other surfaces). Move up to say WD40 a mineral oil again safe wipe clean with meths spirit to clean up just add in a bit of tilting to break that grip.
Hope this helps......
SOURCE: removal of tv stand
The stand is usually held in by 4 Philips scres on the rear of the TV.
The stand itself has 2 "Arms" that point upwards, about 4 inches, they go up into the base of the TV, screws then go in from the rear of the set, low down, to secure the legs in place.
The stand, swivel mechanism and "arms" all stay together.
Good Luck, I hope it helps.
SOURCE: The TV pedestal is stuck to the glass table where
you just will need to pull hard and keep your knee on the table at the same time. having another person would be the best. the bottom of the tv has several soft rubber type of feet to help it from sliding on smooth surfaces and that is what has become stuck over the years. good luck
