Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 Digital Camera

E9101 flash error.

My sony cyber-shot suddenly stopped working and flashed E9101 and will not let me take a picture. Ive tried taking the batteries out, and the memory card and even restarting the camera, nothing is working, is there a way to find out what it could be without taking it to a shop? Also if i have to take it in to get fixed, how much would it run?

Hello Sayrah, there is no way you can fix it yourself. E9101 is an abnormality when flash is being charged. Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility. Best regards, Arpad

The problem is with one of the capacitors, Sony can replace it for you at a cost of $80. This error can come, if we click photos continuosly, the capacitor may get heated up. We need to give a gap of 3 to 4 seconds. Time to be given for the flash to get recharged after a click.
Just give a call at Sony help line. 800.222.SONY, they will replace the capacitor.

If its worth the cost, go for the repair, or you can use the device without flash by disabling the flash. At setup just disable the flash and this error wont show up again.

Flash not working

If the settings was correct, force flash or autoflash, and while pressing shutter button halfway the flash indicator lit, and firing the shutter no flash(not firing). then flash assy is defective, and needs replacement. thanks
