Epson epl6200l photoconductor dirty

My Epson epl6200l photoconductor drum got stained with toner after a couple of paper-jams and prints white bandes all over the print. Can't get it clean. Am I to lay hands (i.e. rub it clean with a towel) or not?

Install photoconductor

the photoconductor is commenly refered to as the "drum" .. its the cylindrical part that picks up and transfers the toner to the paper .. the error message might be telling you its time to replace the drum (they do wear out) or perhaps its not detecting the fact that it is in place .. the photo conductor drum is user replacable so it comes out without too much trouble .. sometimes its part of the replacable toner tank .. it would get automatically replaced when you change toner in that case .. be very careful with the photoconductor drum .. any scratches, finger prints or other damage will show up in the printed output .. dont expose it to bright light ...

Epson Aculaser C1100 will not print properly after changing black toner

I have had this problem with a couple of our C1100's the solution is simple but a bit fiddly.

open the lid and remove the photoconductor unit. what you need to do is clean the glass panel through which the laser shines (it is there honest). It id directly behind the toners but down near where the paper sits. Look at the photoconductor and see where the blue roller sits in the printer. This roller has the laser shone on it and then picks up the toner relaying it onto the belt in the photoconductor.

What i did was get a wad of strong tissue and use a screndriver to wedge it down the rear of the toners (in between the toners and the black plastic bar as you look into the printer with the photo conductor removed) and then slide it back and forth. I actually learned this one form some Minolta QMS printers we have, but the glass plate was in plain view on those.

Basically what we had happen was that some toner had dropped onto the glas and was blocking the laser from hitting the roller and this lead to blank (or faded) strip along the length of a page.

I suppose a smallish paintbrush would do the same thing.

Toner being deposited on back of page

point check

1.Hallo your rollers are dirty and smudged

2.Is your fuser unit O.k (clean)

3.is your paper good quality or are you using coated paper the wrong side? thereby staining the fuser unit (the hot part of the printer)

4. Most unlikely but have u ever turned your printer upside down??? or excess sideways tilt thereby releasing waste toner from the bottom of the printer to the roof then to your paper???

if all is nay then remove all toners and give your machine a gool blowout

Epson AcuLaser C1900 paper jams and almost no ink

If paper jam occurs frequently, wipe the pickup roller with a clean dampened cloth. Follow the steps below:
  1. Open Cover AB of the printer.
  2. Open the cover below the paper path roller.
  3. With a clean dampened cloth, wipe the pickup roller.
  4. Close Cover AB.
If the glass on the print head filter is dirty with toner, wipe it with a clean cloth. A vertical white line may appear in the printout. Follow the steps below:
  1. Open the front cover.
  2. Tilt the waste toner collector and pull it out.
  3. Grasp the handle of the print head filter with your fingers and gently pull it straight out of the slot. (**Note: Be careful not to spill toner that has accumulated on the print head filter. )
  4. With a clean cloth, wipe the glass surface of print head filter.
  5. Hold the print head filter by the handle and gently insert it all the way into the slot.
  6. Reinstall the waste toner collector.
  7. Close the front cover.
The print quality problem might be something as simple as turning off the Toner Save mode using the printer driver or the printer's control panel menus.
There may be a problem with the photoconductor unit. You may need to replace the photoconducter unit.
Or it might be something rather more serious (hopefully, not)Print out a status sheet. If a blank page is ejected, the problem may be with the printer. Turn off the printer and contact your dealer.

Epson C1100 Print quality

no this is not a photoconductor problem. your fuser unit is faulty, it is not getting up to the correct temprature to "fuse" the toner to the paper hence why you are able towipe the toner from the page. Hope this helps Cops [email protected]
