Question about Integra Audio Players & Recorders
I have purchased an Epson EHTW9000 projector and a Samsung BD5500 DVD player, both 3D devices. My receiver is an Integra DTR 7.8 and with present set up (HDMI from DVD player to receiver to projector) will not display in 3D format. I believe I can by pass receiver by hooking into projector directly from DVD player, but not sure how to do this and still get good quality 3D picture and audio, as well as play 2D DVDs without having to setup each time. I am not a technical person and will need this to be explained in laymans terms if possible. Thank You
Your DTR-7.8 receiver is not 3D compatible. It does not support the new 1.4 HDMI. You have to have 1.4 HDMI and 1.4 cables for the 3D format.
You can bypass your receiver for the video though. Simply run your HDMI cord (1.4) from your Blue Ray to your Projector. Your audio can be ran from your Blue ray to your reciever.

The posabilities is power amplifier on your reciever is bad,
replays reciever or repair it.More likely this is IC amplifier located on the main board of the reciever

You can also use a digital coax cable (color orange) to go into coax 1 for DVD coax 2 for cable box. Just make sure to set the coax in input settings. The coax cables are a little cheaper than the optical cables and work just as well.

if you have a tv with outputs you can connect audio wires from your tv output to your audio receiver input and you will have surround sound for everything connected to your tv

Testimonial: "That's a good idea. I hope that my TV will output the hdmi audio through the optical output on it. Thanks"
BD and DVR hooked up to the receiver and from the receiver to the TV right? If yes: Your receiver set to pass sound trough to the TV, if you want sound from the home theater setting has to be changed.

Let's deal with the turntable sound first - unless it's a self-preamplified model you would have to get an external phono-specific preamp to use with this receiver. Without one you'll get microscopically weak, tinny sound from the turntable. Google "RIAA curve" to see why.
As far as the CD sound through the Blu Ray player... for one thing it is flat, as in two-dimensional stereo. Compared to genuine surround from a movie it would be a letdown.
Can you better define 'flat'?
