Question about ViewSonic VG920 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

No Power From the first day I rec'd this monitor, it would power off during use, stay off for a few seconds, and then come back on. Over time (about 1 yr.) the time it would remain off got longer and longer. Now it won't power on at all. I assume there is a problem with the power supply and have no problem attempting to fix it myself. All I need is a confirmation that this is, indeed, the problem and some advice on how I go about fixing it.

The main things to look for are bulging or leaking electrolytic capacitors, bad connections, shorted output transistors, and defective output transformers.

M1991 screen stays black, little light is yellow

The fault is a back-light problem and the fault could be a faulty inverter board or a faulty CCFL lamp.

Same problem - unplug both computer and monitor - hold power button for monitor for 15-30 seconds...then power it back on and then power on the computer. Seems from other sites there is a power issue with the monitor - this worked for me.

Start button not working standby light staying

The switch is for 'REC' 'Standby' and "PLAY".
If you leave it switched to "Play" and pull the plug and push it in to the wall receptacle (mains) it should start playing after a few seconds delay. The same for "REC". You use a timer unit on the power cord for those.
If you have the switch in the middle position and plugged-in, you should have a tiny Red LED illuminated. Push "Power" and it should start-up and be ready to use in a matter of a few seconds.
