19tvr60 we have a couple of issue's. first tv remote dead. has new batteries.unable to access menu. not getting all channels.no menu feature on tv unit itself. all vcr tapes are playing in a distorted manner. HELP !!!!!!!!

I had a dead remote as well - I took it apart and a component had broken loose from PC board. I am looking for schematic now to know what component that broke is - it had no helpful markings.

First try another remote.and play back try a vcr tape head cleaner. by 3m in a red case. those work.

The tv turns on like normal but during the start up initialization, the screen goes to a purple color instead of the normal dark blue. Also, when i hit the input button on my remote, i am unable to access...
to reset the entire unit do the following:

1. Press and hold "Menu" and "Channel +" on the TV.
2. Using other hand, press the power button.
3. A small screen should appear in the top left part of the screen.
4. Using the remote, select "Memory Recall" and select.
5. Power off and re-boot the computer 6. Run channel auto-scan to regain the picture.
Try this it cant hurt.

How do you get to the auxillary channels or the channel where the DVD player or video games would go? I have a DVD player hooked up to the TV, but it only goes from channels 2-69 with no auxillary/video...
Do you have the original remote? If you do, you need to press the input button (on the left below 7 and above the DVD controls). The external device must be on before you scroll through the available inputs. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if the OnScreen Menu has an option to toggle the Input (since there is a Menu button on the TV it would work around the issue).

I cannot get the channel feature to work on the tv. When I try to change channels either by remote or manually on the tv I get a message that says feature not available. i also cannot access tv channel...
I'm unsure of what this sentence means "i also cannot access tv channel through the main menu." Can you clarify? Have you tried unplugging the ac wall cord for a few hours then plug in back in and test again? If that doesn't fix the problem, your set will probably require servicing.

I am unable to go to menu on my televsion.
Some universal remotes do not correctly handle the features of the original remote. You can get an exact duplicate remote from remotes.com: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=6509DD&uuid=12709186471510

Alternatively, get one of the higher end programmable remotes. The ones programmed from your computer are more likely to be trainable to do all the features of your original remot.

Cannot access channel 73 on TV2
If you are unable to access the TV menu using the buttons on the TV itself it is possible you can with the TV2 remote if it still controls the volume etc. for this TV. If it doe not you will need to find a code for your set in the manual for the receiver or you can go to the following link to find that info as well.http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/625.shtml
Assuming you have control of the volume still press the small TV button on the top left of the remote. Now press the menu button and you may be able to access the TV's menu. If so you need to run a channel scan/auto program the TV. You may need to use the buttons on the TV still to maneuver through the menu.
If you are still unable to access the menu you may need to purchase a universal to access the menu.

How do you get to the set up menu w/out a remote
hold down vol down on the remote and push 1 on the universal remote. this should turn your tv off and reset it to factory defaults alowing acess to all cable channels

Menu will not display
If the channel and volume visual display was not set up on the menu to display on screen , neither will show up even if either the remote or set front button are used. Make sure that the tv button is selected on the remote to access the menu .If that does not work ,then either the batteries are dead or the remote is dead.If it is you will need a new remote,sadly. Then you can press the m button , select sound and then select "display volume" and check "during adjustment". The channel display settings are found on "features" from the main menu. Hope this helps.

My technika LCD19DVDID-208 Takes 5 or 6 times of switching from standby on and off to get the screen to light up & the picture signal to come through. The sound comes through OK first time. Also some times the mains switch takes a numer of on off operations to get it to switch on to standby.
