Question about Bemis 4D7 300 5.5 Gallon Humidifier
My tanks are not draining into the humidifier. I have cleaned the screw tops and the little posts that they sit on in the humidifier. The tanks are creating their own vacuum and not draining so the humidifier is just blowing cold air instead of cold moist air. Do I have to buy new tanks?? or new tops for the tanks???
You may be over-tightening the caps. It's tempting to over-tighten because it's a big tank of water that you're about to turn upside down! I had the same problem and the fix turned out to be just that - take the tank(s) back out, loosen the caps (hear the Ssszzzzz as the vacuum breaks), now tighten the caps again, but just enough that the water doesn't leak, and no tighter. Get the cap snug, but not so tight that you couldn't turn it some more. Do it over a sink the first couple of times until you get the feel of it.
