Pronounced pincushion when viewing SD and HD programming on Dish Network 211K receiver via HDMI. HD will have lower and upper cornners cut-off. Overscan or vertical size cuts of top and bottom information.
Steve, I am not an expert on this model but I can provide a link to the manual that may be helpful. It is a PDF format and the pages that refer to your issue are 32-36. I hope this assists you in resolving your issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

You need to make sure that the settings on your TV for the DVI connection are set properly. It sounds as if it is set to stretch or zoom. The reason the HD channels look great is that they dont zoom because the resolution fills up the entire screen without stretching.
I know you want to use your HDMI cables, but since you are going HDMI to DVI you are removing the benefit of the single cable since you still have to use audio cables. You are not going to get any appreciable difference between the setup yo uare using and the component (red, green, blue) cable.

My TV has HDMI inputs, I am not using DVI. The Dish receiver is set to "Normal", no stretch or zoom. The TV is also set to normal screen size. The problem is not one that can be fixed with a remote control setting. Is there anywhere in the service menus to adjust pincushion or image size?
Jim-Thanks for your suggestion. I have done quite a bit of reserch on this. I have the manual, and I have the service manual which I downloaded. I have been unable to locate anything that deals with resizing or shaping the picture. Iam aware that some overscan is inherent in this model and other RPTVs. I'm beginning to think there is no way to make electronic adjustments for screen geometry. I do appreciate your effort to help out.
