I absolutely agree that it is necessary to ask a veterinarian about the meds you are going to give your dog. All of them can have side effects and contraindiacations. In case you don't have a possibility to take your pet to a vet clinic, I can suggest visiting a Pet Express site https://www.worldpetexpress.net/ where you can read the detailed information of the meds for pets. Hope it helps!

Before you give your pet any medication, it is alwaysrecommended to take them to the vet. If thatis not an option, there are a few signs to look out for when you dog is in needof some medication. - If your dog vomits or has diarrheafor more than 24 hours- If your dog eats grassoutside (a sign that he is trying to throw up)- If your dog doesn't eat fora full day

Can I give my dog an antibiotic that was prescribed to me to treat his ear infection

Some human medications can be used by dogs but not all of them, if you love your animal, you should consult a vet and ask if the medication will not make your dog sick or worst.

Diabetes In Dogs

Diabetes can affect dogs and other pets much the same as humans. It's a chronic disease with no cure; however, with proper care, it can be easily managed.

In sugar diabetes, the cells stop taking in the glucose and are starved. The glucose-filled sugary blood surrounds the organs and starts damaging them.

gestational diabetes happens during pregnancy and is caused by hormonal changes.

A simple blood test is required to measure your dog's glucose level. This is the most efficient way to test for diabetes.

Since there are many medicine labels with varying qualities, you should always focus on the treatment plan rather than the medicine labels.
Your effort in treating diabetes would be to keep the glucose level as close as possible to normal. It should be done so that they don't develop further diabetes-related problems in the future.

Can cat flea also attack dogs?

Yes, the cat flea is a parasite of cats and dogs. You shouldn't get confused by the name but it's the number one flea of all pets.

How to stop my dog scratching

it could actually be the type of flea treatment you are using. an overdose of many chemcials will cause a very irritation sensation on the dogs skin.
Look at the active ingrediant. Usually it is Permethrin but after some searching you should be able to find another one. and DO NOT use more regualrly that it says on the label as you could be slowly poisening your dog.
Hope this helps

Are there any home remedies for helping dogs with bad stomachaches?

There are a few things you can try at home to help your dogwith a bad stomach ache. But I would becareful not to overload the dog with unfamiliar substances when he is alreadyfeeling poorly. Here is a link with some interesting suggestions:http://voices.yahoo.com/home-remedies-dogs-stomach-aches-1741105.html?cat=68After trying these things, if your dog doesn't appear to befeeling any better, I would take him to the veterinarian right away.

What medicine should I give my dog for a stomachache?

As with any pet medication, you should always take your petto the vet first. Vets generally prescribeKaopectate ifit is just a stomach ache and nothing more serious like a digestive tractinfection. Vets will never prescribeaspirin or similar products because the acetaminophen can cause dogsmajor liver problems.
