I've had my computer a few years now and nothing has gone wrong with the cd drive...Until now, it doesn't reconize any sort of CD-ROM Disks but will reconize DVD's. I have tried uninstalling the drive and letting windows install it again and the problem still exists, If anybody knows how to fix this problem then i would very much appreciate it. Thanks
1. go to device manager / right click on cd drive / uninstall driver / reboot and windows will reinstall driver 2. go to My computer right click on cd drive properties - check digital cd playback recording - check enable cd recording on this drive driver - update or uninstall reboot your computer

i have blank cd in drive. i use Nero for making cd's . the computer shows the cd in drive but when i try to burn a disc it's not reconizing the cd
