Question about LG RU-60SZ30 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I'm sorry to give you this news, but the optics unit (light engine) is defective. I have seen this problem on many occasions. Call LG customer service and some units have an extended warranty for this problem.

We have had our RU-60SZ30 for almost 3 years. After 13 months it did the same thing, LG covered the cost of the part,($3000.00) according to their certified repair center, but they charged us $500.00 for labor. Now today, 15 months later it is doing it again. I just got off the phone with LG and they say "too bad, you're out of warranty" So my TV that I paid $4000.00 for, has gone out twice in less than 36 months and LG says, "Oh well" After searching the web I found a law firm in New York that looks like they are putting together a class action suit regarding our model.
