My computer will not recognize the MP3 player, but I have another one that it does recognize.
When the power is turned on, it says "Start Update BrowserDB", and it will not turn off after, unless I remove the battery.
Any help?
Do you have WMP10 installed? I couldn't transfer songs, although my computer recognised the player, until I installed it, I had an older version of WMP.
and check in settings/power that it's set to auto power off on the player.
the 'start updater browserDB' is normal after synching the player.

It doesnt sounds like your device is fixeable...most likely you will have to buy another player...the reason you need to buy a new player is because you are not going to be able to see the screen to do a manual reset....therefore no troubleshooting is available for you device...
Try to reset your device by holding the power button down for 15-20 seconds or until it resets....If that doesnt help you get the latest firmware upgrade for your device...that should solve the problems you are having...
