Maytag Atlantis MDE6200AYW will run, but no heat

Was using dryer in the auto (not timed) mode and it ran for 2 hours. Clothes cold, but dry.
Tried timed dry and clothes still wet. Don't seem to have any heat going into it. How do I determine the cause and fix?
Thanks

I had the same issue, everyone I read online said check the heating element or thermal fuse. Finally I found the manual online (in hope to understand how to open it up correctly to check these things) and I saw a section listed as things to check before you call in a repair. The first thing on the list for no heat coming out was check the house breaker box. Lo and behold, i flipped the breaker back, and it began to work again!
I'm glad I couldn't find a repairman to come look at it. Would have cost a lot for a simple fix.

Check to make sure that you have the proper voltage running to the dryer first. Next you may have a problem with your heating element or with your thermal fuse. Get your dryer opened up so you can see your heating element. Run the dryer and if you see the heating element come on and then turn right back off again then you have a bad thermal fuse. If it doesn't come on at all though then the heating element is bad. Both parts can be picked up at your local appliance repair shop. Just make sure to unplug the dryer before replacing the part. If you have any other questions let me know and let me know if this was helpful for you. Good luck.

Our Maytag Centennial Electric dryer is not cycling in auto dry mode but will in timer mode. Any thoughts?

There is a sensor that the clothes have to touch when the drum spins. This sensor measures how wet the clothes are. If you don't have enough of a load in the dryer then the sensor wont detect the dryness. Or it could be a bad sensor or connection or main board.

My maytag atlantis dryer heats up but on any cycle the dryer doesnt run long enough to dry the clothes i have to turn it on two or more times to dry clothes

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

My Maytag MDG6400AWW timer does not advance in the Auto mode. The clothes will dry but it will spin and spin for hours until you open the door. In timer mode everything appears to work normally

Brand new Maytag Centennial electric dryer does not dry clothes!

It may have shipping damage, such as a loose or broken connection or heating element.

But if it's brand new, it's under warranty, and they will fix it free.

Maytag atlantis gas dryer, will start, heat up but then no heat

Try running it with the vent disconnected and feel the air coming out of the dryer. It should have good flow. If it dries good, your pipe may be clogged.

Maytag Performa Electric Dryer Won't Start

check the blower wheel, sounds to me like it is loose on the blower motor, common on these dryers. One sure sign would be a warped filter and a rusted top. The blower aint putting out enough and the dryer is over heating .

Mytag Dryer ModelLdg4000Aw

I have a Maytag Atlantis Gas Dryer that will turn on, rotate, but will not get hot and dry the clothes. A load of clothes in the afternoon, didn’t dry, tried again but didn’t dry – went to bed after putting on auto dry - next morning the dryer was still rotating and didn’t turn off. No hot air – only cold air.

Sounds like the moisture sensor has gone away. Not sure where it is located on this model, though.
