    Yes, I am having the same problem and have taken it back to Fry's twice. Each time they send it back to Panasonic and say they made adjustments or resoddered connections. Even tried it in another car. It shuts off after 10 minutes and has done this since day one.

Mine is doing exactly the same thing! I suspect its a protection mode- the unit is overheating. I'm not sure what to do, there is no mention in the manual.

I have a Panasonic surround sound DVD player and the remote has stopped working, I've replaced batteries and tried resetting unit.

Did you fully shut down the player including unplugging. Did you contact mfr customer service or warranty claims for instructions on resetting the remote code in the unit?

Sony CDP C-85ES cd player stops and/or shuts down

I have the same player and had this problem. I solved it by getting a spray electrical contact cleaner and cleaning the power button. After spraying inside the button, I just cycled the button a few dozen times and the problem went away.

My Funai WV805 DVD player quit playing DVDs

Hello
If the DVD do not spins inside the playere, this type of fault can occur. Open the top cover of the player and insert a dvd. See whether it spins inside or not. If not, replace the motor that spins the disc inside. This motor is known as Sled motor.
If disc spins inide and the player do not read or play it, replace the Laser Pickup Unit. It is faulty.

RC10.2DVD player, powers up fine but when you insert DVD it goes it and then right away ejects it with out playing it

Well I just installed this unit in my car and it was fine for a week and then the problem you posted started happening.. I took unit down tried to call RCA mobile but the number is now disconnected so I proceeded to take the dvd player it self out of the unit and found what the issue was there are 2 ribbon cables going to the player and the smaller of the 2 was so loose that it just fell off. So i reinserted it and secured the clamp that holds in and retested it.. And bam the constant running of the loading and unloading mechanism stopped. That damn cable seemed to be the whole damn issue. If your mech. enclined take the unit down remove the cowel on the back side of the unit, open the monitor and u will see 6screw covers either remove them or put ur screw driver right in them and remove the screws and hold your hand on the DVD unit or it will fall completely off when you pick up the housing. Make sure the smaller cable is secure and all wiring is secured and recrew the dvd unit in replace cover and reinstall in vehicle. Hopefully it will work as it did with mine.

Computer shuts down on inserting disc

I have just fixed a computer with a similar problem. The owner installed a new DVD burner (a SATA drive) and every time he inserted a CD or DVD disc, the computer shutdown (mostly, because the front LED was still on and the CPU fan too, everything else just turned off [drives, PCI cards]). It happened in Windows, in Linux (Ubuntu) and even in the BIOS screen, so I discarded an OS problem. Also happened while booting if a CD or DVD was already inserted in the unit; as soon as the drive LED blinked, the computer crashed. After checking the obvious, I did three final tests:

1) try the DVD unit in another computer (it worked);
2) try the DVD unit with the power connector only, with the data cable disconnected (it shutdown);
3) try the DVD unit with the power connector from and external power supply, with the data cable connected (it worked).

By this point, it was obviously a power supply problem. I checked the power supply unit (PSU) and discovered it was pretty small (250 W). So I installed a more powerful one (350 W) and then it worked.

I checked with a wattmeter and it seems this DVD drive increased the power consumption by 25 watts when started to spin the disc. I really don't know if that is normal (taking 25W to start spinning the disc) or if this drive has some defect, but it seems the previous PSU could not provide that extra power and shutdown some of its output (but not all).

So, if you have this weird problem, maybe checking the power supply and testing with a bigger one may help.

Regards,

MV
