Question about Sony CMT-NE5 CD Shelf System

'no disk' error message

My system shows 'no disk' error message after checking every single MP3 and audo CD inserted. My system is relatively new in the sense its usage is very limited, hence less chances of wear. Opened the box and cleaned the lens and checked with magnifier to verify there are no blemishes on surface of cd lens. Still displaying the same 'no disk' error message. Why? Will the optical head go dead suddenly? Ramki

Hello
Replace the strip connection wire that connects the Laser Picku Unit to main board. If the fault prevails, the Laser Beam emission to your devices' Laser pickup unit is less, and must be replaced with same type and number. OK.

Cd player error

so is this a stock RAD/cd?
stock JBL 6 disk player in dash>? or? what? name and model #
mp3 and wma format. but not DVD
or
JBL premium 4-disc in-dash CD changer
io the single disc player, 3 kinds sold. new.

and now comes the big question.
TELLS where you got the disk, or name it, or tell how it was made if home made. we dont know that.

is said CD a CDDA? or not. (always try CDDA first)
is CD a real music disc. from a real store, CDDA, is that.
or CDR, or DVDr, or CDRW, or other record-able media
is music MP3? files.
see, the old units dont play modern media.

try 2 real discs, not scratched.
do they play?
one other way, is to name the radio, brand, like JBL then get the
p/n off it. (hard) then look up the product data sheet on it,
bingo, what it can and can not do is there.

but this does it all, mostly
does what yours will not do.

My computer harddrive has a problem

Causes of Disk Read Errors WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source. Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer. While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Test all Power and Data leads that attach from Motherboard to your hard drive, IDE,SATA make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty Make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd \ cd and floppy if applicable have secure dust free connections. Computers need all electrical power and data to travel through every working device its and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error b> There are many different types of disk read errors that can show up on your computer screen during various usage efforts. Be aware as to what you were doing and what task your computer was attempting to perform at the time that the disk read error showed up. This may be a very simple issue, or it may become very complex and involve a data loss threat. Using the process of elimination for determining the error reason can save you time and money.

CD b> Click start control panel administrative tools computer management then select event viewer this may vary depending on what operating system you have extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured Right click on the error message select properties you will see all details about the error or click start type in event viewer press ENTER you might be able work your way through the problem. With any kind of disk read error, the best of luck will be that this is just a problem with a CD that you are attempting to use on your computer. To determine this, remove any CDs or floppy disks from your PC and reboot your computer. Wait and see if it turns back on without any error messages. If so, all is well and you merely need to check the CD you were attempting to use for damage. b> Windows Installation b> Sometimes a Windows repair will alleviate the problem of a disk read error. To find out if your error message is actually related to a Windows environment problem, get your Windows installation CD and reload the CD. Do not reinstall but rather choose the repair option. This might correct the problem. b> Hard Drive b> If the problem is with your hard drive, you will hopefully have previously created a mirror image to protect your data. If so, you can breathe easily because your hard drive data is safe and you can simply replace your hard drive if need be. If you do not have a backup and the problem is with your hard drive, you may need to use a recovery service or do further research regarding how to recover your data on your own. b> Reseat Your Hard Drive b> If the disk read error message does not come until your system has already completed its bootup, then it is probably originating from the OS (operating system). It is possible that your BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is simply unable to locate the drive. Since the BIOS is responsible for the booting-up process, it will typically be the origination of the disk read error message. If this is the case, you may want to try reseating your hard drive. Be very careful when attempting this because you have to manually remove and replace the physical hard drive in your computer. b> Bad Spot b> There may just be a bad spot on a disk. Consider whether or not you received this message when you were attempting to access a rarely used file. Check to see if you receive this message after turning your computer off and on again and attempting to access a file that you commonly use. Using a disk error checker utility scanner will assist you in narrowing the problem to this if it is the cause. Hope this helps.

When I switch on my pc,it tells me disk boot failure insert system disk and press enter. I have XP proffessional sp3 but only have a xp home disk.

If your computer has just been formatted, your computer might require you to insert the boot CD

to be able to run it. You might hence get the error message Disk Boot Failure- Insert disk and

press enter displayed on the screen every time you will try to run it. This might be linked

to:

* 1. The boot options not correctly set in BIOS
* 2. A non bootable CD is found in your CD drive
* 3. You do not possess any bootable device
* 4. You have installed a new hard disk
* 5. The hard disk is not properly plugged
* 6. Your system files have been infected

Try this before you enter disk.

  2. Or open my computer, select cd drive right click select, format disk. When prompt comes up for disk insert CDR.
Some systems have trouble with other manufactured formatted disk.
