Question about Computers & Internet
Turn monitor on all i see is fractured lines going across the screen for a few seconds then the screen goes completely white and stays white forever..most of the time the monitor doesn't even turn on
If you see "fractured lines" across the screen, it would appear that your LCD screen is broken. That's the only way these kinds of lines appear.
You need to replace the screen.

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.

Dell had a problem with horizontal lines in some of their monitors a little while back. I would try contacting Dell Tech Support to see if your monitor is one of the one effected. I think they were replacing the monitors that had the problem, but I'm not completely sure.

check the wiring inside the monitor, pull the sceen out and move the wires with the screen on so you can see when it's working. then tape the wires where it works.

1.Make sure all the connections are secure.
2.Try attaching the monitor to a different PC if possible, to determine if its the monitor or video card.
3.Your monitor might just be going bad
