SOURCE: how to install an alpine cda 9851

you go to a stereo shop..(walmart autozone etc should also do) buy a mounting kit and a wire harness adapter. The wire colors on the adapter match the wire colors of most aftermarket decks. MAtch the wire colors and connect...make sure to tape wires well as if they touch you rick damage to your deck.. install the mount kit plug in your cd player and slide it in and you are good to go..

SOURCE: hooking up alpine hd radio unit, bt-400, which one do i hook ipod to

Niether .... do you know what you have in hand? Both those extras costed someone some cash ... OK here it is: the CDA-9884 has a dedicated input for ipod (a KCE-422i cable is needed and comes with the new CDA-9884 in the box) ... The HD radio unit allows you to recieve new HD radio signals (digital radio, and stations that have it in your area may also have extra music streams like HD TV does). The bt-400 is a bluetooth adapter to use bluetooth enabled devices with such as a cell phone. If your ipod has bluetooth you could used the bt adapter but I suggest the KCE-422i cable instead, and check out the HD radio too, it's pretty cool.

SOURCE: Alpine CDA 9827 using aux mode with ipod shuffle via rca inputs

Unfortunately, the rca outputs are to control an amplifier or crossover. They do make an ipod adapter for that radio, which allows you to control the ipod through the radio. Best Buy or any Alpine dealer should carry something for around $25.

Is the CDA-9827 capable of playing songs from an mp3 player (does it have an input option)?

The Alpine CDA-9827 only has an input connector for an external CD Changer.

You could get an FM Transmitter for your MP3 Player, and play your MP3 Player using your FM Radio in your Stereo.

Here is an excellent MP3 Player FM Transmitter:

Alpine CDA-9827

well unless you have a lot of fixit years under your belt its broken you microprossesor on the mother board is burn up this happens if you were playing it very loud the night before for an unusualyt extended period of time or over night condensation witch is unlikely because the CDA-9827 has gel coat on the chipset it is reletivel inexpensive to fix if you have experience it is 200 pins and they are very close probably out of you reach best bet take it to a service tech and have it repaired but dont get screwed on it the stereo should go for around $90us on ebay or somthing like it thank you if you have any questions please feel free to email me.

Wiring

According to the wiring diagram, it is for an Audio Interrupt.

Which means, if you have a car kit, bluetooth, or wired, you can connect this wire to it so the Head Unit will MUTE or Attenuate.

If you dont have a car kit, you dont need to connect it to anything.

Best of Luck.

No sound to the in car speakers from my alpine cda-9827 cd player

What kind of car did you install this in? Did it have a factory radio in it? If I had to take a guess I would think that there is a factory amp that you may have hooked the blue wire from the alpine deck to. If this is the case when you switch to CD the alpine deck turns off the power to the power antenna lead(blue wire) and thus your factory amp. If this is the case hook the factory amp turn on to the blue and white wire and you should be good to go.
