Acer orbicam - when I try to start up orbicam it says it is being used by another application and that I should close that application and then open oribicam. I have no idea how to find out what application is using orbicam.

If the Acer Orbicam is missing or not installed, please close all
open applications on your computer, make sure your power cord is plugged
into the back of the notebook, and follow the procedure below to
reinstall the application.
Press 'Alt + F10' to start eRecovery Management.
Enter the Acer eRecovery Management password, the default password is six zero's, or 000000.
Select 'Recovery Actions' and click 'Next'
Select 'Reinstall Applications/drivers' and click 'Next'
On the left hand side of the newly opened window select Windows XP
Select Driver
Select Camera
On the right side of the same window, click 'Install Camera Driver Now'
The unit will reboot after the installation is complete.
Note: This applies only to those systems with a the Acer Orbicam built-in camera.

it is not being used, this is a common fault of the Orbicam, with no answers or newer drivers from Acer, the belo works for me as i have the same problem along with many others.
open up the cam software as normal, then turn your camera to face the back of your notebook, turn it back again and keep clicking the camera start button and eventually it will come on.
Checked if your orbicam is in device manager (under imaging device),
if it still there, you might have wrong orbicam application installed. try to download the orbicam application, there are 3 type of orbicam for Aspire 5050 (suyin, bison and logitech). try to installed one by one.
or if you can try to reload the whole windows, using alt+f10 during boot.
