The Hard Drive Password is not an easy thing to remove. Most times it is set to keep thieves from getting to sensitive data.

Check your user manual and see what it says to do.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for manuals and search them for Password or Hard Drive Password.

SOURCE: asking for password sata port pass

This is a "security" feature, to protect the files on the disk-drive from unauthorized access.

The computer supports "full-disk" encryption of each disk-drive inside your computer.

So, what password did you set when you first initialized this disk-drive?

If you don't know it, there's nothing you can do -- all the files on the disk-drive are _NOT_ accessible to you.

It sounds like you may need to go into the BIOS and change or disable the password. Alternatively, clear the CMOS.
