Re:
Ok settle down, repairing corrupt PSP flash memory is easy and doesnt require much expertise. I myself have custom firmware on my PSP and have corrupted flash memory before making my PSP not turn on. To fix it you need two things, a pandora battery and a magic memory stick. A pandora battery allows the PSP to enter 'service mode' and a magic memory stick is a normal memory stick that allows for firmware to be installed off it. I recommend www.pandorasales.com and they provide both those things so you just need to insert both and then it will fix your problem. If you want even more details on how this all works search google for 'bricked psp'. Dont worry your PSP is repairable and it is fairly hard to completely ruin your psp without smashing it or pulling it apart.
Hi I am having the same problem, but it could be really really bad news.
The same thing happened me when I was asked to update the software. And my psp crashed during the install. So because of it the flash memory in it is no corrupt so it wont switch on, oh and Sony wont cover the memory through the warranty.
I believe the term for it is psp brick, and unfortunately there is no fix for it unless you are very clever and add new flash memory to bypass the old one.
If you know another PSP user , try using their battery on your PSP to see if it is a faulty battery.
Does it work on the AC Cable?
If not it then it could be power line fault and will need repair

This is known as the yellow light of death(ironic i know). This is caused when the unit overheats causing solder on the board to melt and bridge(connect). Once this happens it shorts out the board giving you the error you have now. Contact Sony and see if the unit is still under warranty. If the unit is not under warranty go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a console repair company based in Texas, and we can get your console up and running again. All of our repairs come with a 90 day warranty that covers the whole console, not just what we repaired. We also offer extended warranties up to 4 years at additional cost. The cost of repair is $80 and includes round trip shipping. If you have any other questions/concerns feel free to email s[email protected] or call toll free 1-888-389-3038.
Hi first i will say sorry for that. I will recommend that you see a certified technician to fix it up, there are a few things i guess are wrong with your psp... the system of psp are fragile and should be handled with care because i think one or more parts are broken and need replacement. Cheers
the downloads dont matter.u change the battery and if it doesnt work take it to a shop.if u have spill water on it open the psp cover and everything and for 2 days put it in the hot sun
I'll give you the quick story of what they did. They "bricked" the PSP. This is a term used by all PSP hackers. When you try to hack the system so you can play pirated games on the system, you will occasionally get an error that causes the system to be "bricked". They use the word "brick" because once it happens, the PSP becomes as fun as a brick. You really can't do much about it. Your best bet is to call Sony and see what they can do for you. If you know anyone else that knows what they're doing with PSPs, you could always ask them to fix it for you, but Sony would be the easiest. They won't do it for free, but they will fix it for you. 1-800-345-SONY
Ok it is bricked so what you need to do is: Take it to a shop, or get a Pandora's battery, email me when you have a pandora's battery

We have a bunch of 23" LG units that all failed with the flashing green light problem. I opened it up and traced it to a bad 3.4v output on the power supply which was caused by a puffed up capacitor on the board. If you are capable, you can do the repair and they have all worked fine since. BTW, they ran 24h a day for 2 years before this happened.
