I have had psp for 1 year one day I turned it on and the green light flashes once but nothing happens and the green light goes off. whats wrong and what do I do.
Ok settle down, repairing corrupt PSP flash memory is easy and doesnt require much expertise. I myself have custom firmware on my PSP and have corrupted flash memory before making my PSP not turn on. To fix it you need two things, a pandora battery and a magic memory stick. A pandora battery allows the PSP to enter 'service mode' and a magic memory stick is a normal memory stick that allows for firmware to be installed off it. I recommend www.pandorasales.com and they provide both those things so you just need to insert both and then it will fix your problem. If you want even more details on how this all works search google for 'bricked psp'. Dont worry your PSP is repairable and it is fairly hard to completely ruin your psp without smashing it or pulling it apart.

Hi I am having the same problem, but it could be really really bad news. The same thing happened me when I was asked to update the software. And my psp crashed during the install. So because of it the flash memory in it is no corrupt so it wont switch on, oh and Sony wont cover the memory through the warranty. I believe the term for it is psp brick, and unfortunately there is no fix for it unless you are very clever and add new flash memory to bypass the old one.

If you know another PSP user , try using their battery on your PSP to see if it is a faulty battery. Does it work on the AC Cable? If not it then it could be power line fault and will need repair
