SOURCE: driver for sansa e270 for win xp os

Install Windows Media Player 11. The Sansa drivers, and MTP system, are part of WiMP10 / 11. Windows XP "out of the box" has WiMP9, which may be your problem.

The Sansa can function as a flash drive in MSC mode, but your files transferred in MTP will not be available on the PC side.

The Sansa does not require specific drivers from SanDisk, as it's integrated into WiMP.

Go under menu, setting and change the device to MTP or playforsure..

Let me know if that works

Go to Sandisk's website and get the software you need. If the reinstall fails:
These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

hi! you can try reformatting by activating the keylock and then press and hold the record key while turning the power on. it will go to the recovery mode.

plug the mp3 usb to your pc.

open a notepad apllication and create a new blank file.
save as sansa.fmt and change save as type, it should be All Files. it will create a file with 0 bytes.

you can now disconnect the usb and wait til the mp3 displays formatting.. it will reformat by itself.

SOURCE: sansa e270 ....computer no longer reads content of sansa

Well, the reason you can't see some of the songs is because they are in a hidden folder. To access the hidden folders, you have to go to computer, then folder options, and check unhide hidden files and folders. If you go back to sansa, you should see a light colored folder that is titled music.

I added a 2gb mirco SD card to my Sansa e270 6.0gb player, but the memory is still only showing 10mb of the original 6.0 gb available for use. How do I get the Sansa to recognize and use the 2 gb mirco SD...

Hi,when you purchase a new micro SD card before use, youwill need to format the memory card so that you will be able to know the actual size of the Micro SD card by checking the details after formatting it.

After formatting the micro SD card and checking the details, if you still do not see the accurate size which is about 1.88mb or the about, that means the micro SD card you bought needs to be replaced. Not a good one.

Have a nice day.

My sansa e270 does not start anymore and is not recognized by the PC?

Hi.
Try to download the software and drivers for your MP3 to your PC again.
If it still doesn't get approved, it means that there's a virus in your device that's why it is not detected by the PC.

How do you reform a Sansa E280E MP3 player. video files stored is corrupted and unable to be deleted through normal means.

Hello there...

To format your mp3 player please do the following

Connect one end of the USB cable to your player and the other end to an open USB port on your computer. Your computer will recognize the new device.

Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop. You will see your Sansa e280 player's icon listed as a removal disk together with other hard drives on your computer.

Right-click the Sansa e270 icon. Scroll down and click "Format." When the format window opens, click "Start." The formatting will erase any current information on the drive. Depending on the memory capacity, it could be a quick process or take a little longer.

I hope this solves your problem,,,

SanDisk Sansa e270 MP3 Player has only 79 songs and 3 GB used

You may have some corrupt data on the device.

It sometimes creates the wrong file allocation and gives you an incorrect representation of the free space.

Try formatting the device in My Computer to erase all of the information and start over.

My Computer>Device Name(e270)>Right Click and select FORMAT.

Best of Luck.
