Question about Pioneer PureVision PDP-V401 40 in. Plasma Television

1 Answer

PDP-V401 Plasma My 1998 plasma suddenly developed an entire row of black pixles in Video, i switch to RBG and it is also there. about 30 minutes after the screen went entirely white with the black line in the same place. Has my plasma gone dead? I would think that by dying it would go entirely black, or the row of black pixels would just increase. What should I do?

I am amazed it lasted that long. It could well be in the panel and would be expensive to fix. I think you would be better served at checking out a 40-42" LCD replacement. They've come a long way since yours was made.

Black horizontal line across the middle of the plasma TV screen

It could be a defective Y-Buffer board, or a defective Plasma panel.

'buttons & ir lock' display for a PDP-50MXE20

Ms Darlene
All televisions need remote controls and they are readily available for about $20. Without a remote you can only do the most basic changes.

Google

make model replacement remote

There have been issues yesterday and today with wifi enabled televisions suddenly quitting. Try this

Turn off the television.
Remove the network cable.
Reboot the router and wait 15 minutes.
Turn on the television.
Plug in the network cable.
Set up WiFi, (but you may need a remote).

EVERYONE needs a remote!

Problem with LG 42 inch plasma

If you notice these dots when you use Video or HDMI inputs, then you need to do something to get rid of them.

Open the back cover, try to reduce the Vs voltage 5-10V below its spec value. Vs is from Power Supply Board and its spec value was printed on the back of PDP panel. If your tv is under warranty, just drop it to the warranty depot shop.

Black verticle line

You most likely have a bad address board or the conntection is dirty between the address board and the PD (Plasma Display Panel). This is not a do it yourself repair as any damage to the cables to the PDP would require a PDP replacement.
