Plasma 42inch TV

My LG 42" has started to display a breakdown of the picture after being on for 5-36hrs in a room temperature of 60-65F and 2-3 hrs at an ambient temperature of 65F and up where there is picture breakthrough behind the main picture, skin tones and scenes with white walls and similar go silvery and if left in that state for a while the screen has a lot of pixellation. If I switch to standby for 10-15 minutes then switch back on the fault has disappeared for a short while(about 1 hr) before starting again The set is less than a year old but the sellers have disappeared and LG don't have the courtesy to reply to my email.

I repaired an LG with a similar problem. the picture started out ok but after 1/2 hour the foreheads went pastel and blotchy in the backround. I replaced the CTRL board.

I'm guessing this is a problem on the Y-SUS PCB or the Control PCB. Call LG and they will find you a servicer. Most LG Plasmas have 2 year warranties and they are covered in your home. It kinda sucks but it is better now than after your warranty expires this repair would cost several hundred dollars.
