TV has horizontal distortion. It is in varying amounts, but can be substantial. It does make a crackling sound when it flashes. It's an interference of some sort that goes across the entire front of the screen. Odd thing, it plays a DVD perfectly. I have eliminated the cable as a possible problem. I have moved another TV to the same outlet, and it played perfectly. Also moved the problem TV to another outlet and it had the interference. It's around 9 years old, so if I need to replace it, that's what I will have to do. Just didn't understand how the DVD plays perfectly if something is going bad in the set. Thanks, Bill Harrington
Sound like you may have bad connection at or in the tuner section. U could try soldering around the board at the tuner area and if U should deside to try with in the tuner a fine soldering tip is require and solder all the grounds in and out ( out, the main pc board)
