TV has horizontal distortion. It is in varying amounts, but can be substantial. It does make a crackling sound when it flashes. It's an interference of some sort that goes across the entire front of the screen. Odd thing, it plays a DVD perfectly. I have eliminated the cable as a possible problem. I have moved another TV to the same outlet, and it played perfectly. Also moved the problem TV to another outlet and it had the interference. It's around 9 years old, so if I need to replace it, that's what I will have to do. Just didn't understand how the DVD plays perfectly if something is going bad in the set.
Thanks, Bill Harrington
Sound like you may have bad connection at or in the tuner section. U could try soldering around the board at the tuner area and if U should deside to try with in the tuner a fine soldering tip is require and solder all the grounds in and out ( out, the main pc board)

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php That crackling sound could be of the color wheel:The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is BP9601073A you can find original here:http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung-BP96-01073A-lamp-p/samsung-bp96-01073a-lamp-oem.htm?Click=48173 .Have a blessed one!
If the sound problem is only on one game then its a problem with the game. If its happening on all games then try the system on another TV, if the sound problem stops then its a problem with the original tv, if it still crackles then its a problem with the main board inside of the ps3.
sound like ur speakers are failing lol im a genious right... u probabily figured that out try playing something else through ur system not ps3 if it still crackles u should think about changing your sound system
You are probably dealing with loose solder connections in the horizontal and vertical deflection circuits. I am surprised it hasn't failed in a massive way yet. Too many times that is the way it ends unless those solder connections are taken care of.
Hope this helps,
very common problem you need to replace the flyback number 259296 and the CP150 you can get replacemnent flyback and cp150 at the following link with free step by step instructions on how to do the repair. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
The quick horizontal line through the center of the screen usually denotes a failure in the vertical output circuit, and that would keep the set from staying on. You would have to take it to a repair shop for repair.
