I have a very similar problem. ive had mine for 6 weeks, and the other day it started playing up. not all the time but now and again.
the screen goes weird like a very low resolution or goes all lines. when i cancel to the main menu and shut the phone for a min so the screen light goes off or black then re open it goes back to normal. now and again tho it crashes which is a pain. it seems like a software bug, im gonna wait for a software update.
if you havent had long its worth taking back to the shop. especially more so if its frequent!

I had same problem, sometimes it was just going weird colours but I could use all features - sometimes the screen went totally blank and I'd have to properly restart it (ie. take battery out for 5 mins then put it all back together and reset the phone) and even then no guarantee of how long it would be 'normal' for. I took it to Carphone Warehouse and they sent it away for repair, they said its a really common problem with this model, since getting it back had no problems with the SCREEN. Now I can't hear the other person when I'm on the phone unless I put them on loudspeaker ... again apparently a common problem with this phone!
Back to Carphone Warehouse for me :(
my flash does not work, there is a flash sign blanks when i want to take a photo which make it not possible to take a photo, unliss i change the settings and turns the flash off, i did not find this flash sign in the manual , why is that happenning????
