I cannot see my music files or play them on the mp3 player. But I can take them on and off and transfer them between computers. The radio works. When I start it up it says "check hdd connection" then "check hdd" I have tried reformatting, resetting and charging fully, and reloading firmware. The firmware loads into player on the PC, but won't upload when I try to upload in the player. I don't think the hard drive is dead- I can hear it start up, and it turns on and off easily. Appreciate any ideas-- Thanks!
To those who may be looking for a solution to weird i-hp120/140 problems...
I had weird problems like 'check hdd' and 'usb connected' when it wasn't. Eventually it permanently displayed 'usb connected' and I couldn't do anything with it anymore. Turns out one of the chips on the piggy-back board had become de-soldered and was loose. touching all the pins with a soldering iron (no solder) to reseat the chip worked. All is well now.
