I have just purchased a second hand HP C7671B transparency adaptor. I wish to use this with a HP Scanjet 3300C flat bed scanner. this scanner does not have the necessary 4 way mini din connector to supply power to the adaptor so i need to provide an external power supply. Can anybody tell me what is the required voltage for the transparency adaptor and what the pinout details are for the connector. Thanks.

Downgrade back to XP. That's what a lot of people are doing.

I would say the most likely cause of the issue is either that the scanner is no longer functioning or that it is experiencing power issues. Make sure that the scanner is plugged in directly to the wall and not into a surge protector or a power strip. The scanner does not share power well and pulls it in large amounts - when it can't get it it throws little power fits and sometimes will not turn on at all. Try another wall outlet and see if you can get it to power on and do a scan without the yellow strip showing up.
