I have a 2003 Toshiba Projection TV. Last weekend while watching the set the screen went into vertical lines and after 1 or 2 minutes went blank. If I left the set off for 1 or 2 hours the picture will come on for 5 minutes then repeat above problem. Any ideas on a fix. Thanks
Possible bad solder connections in convergence circuit or vertical deflection circuit. This happens in alot of equipment. After warm up, expansion of joint pulls connections loose. Recommend not running like this, could cause component failure.

Thanks for the quick response! A local repairman wanted to replace a part, don't remember the name, and said it would cost $475 to fix and he would need to take the set to his shop. From your response it sounds like an in-home fix is appropropriate. What do you think?
