Jvc 56wp30 my convergence across the middle and bottom are good, but will not line up on top. the crosshair seems to freeze. Problem 2, too much green. i can access the service menu, but the codes are foreign to me, i need some sort of guide.

Replace STKs in convergence board.

Ur tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv have colors lines R,B,G mis alignments,have colors shadows pictures or 3D picture look alike?The tv convergence board it is dead.The tv convergence board,must require repalcing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.The tv convergence board is fix,will solved ur tv picture convergence problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

You will need to install a convergence repair kit which contains two Convergence ICs STK392-110 and then the associated resistors as usually a JVC will Need at least 1 or 2 of the resistors when the ICs fail. NO fix. Get a new TV

So you are able to adjust? the crosshairs move left and right up and down. you might have to get a tech to adust it in service mode.

Sounds as though you have a bad convergence chip ( there are two convergence chips on the board ). I suggest you change both and apply lots of heat silacon grease. Good Luck

No. You have bad convergence output ic;s and probably at least 1 burnt resistor. This liely will have to be reconvergec in the servcie menu after the aprts are changed.

Get the remote and go to Menu and go to Initial Set-up and click on the convergence button. You will then be able to line up the pluses in the middle of each color. When they are lined up you are ready to go.
