SOURCE: My Belkin USB PDA Adapter Serial adapter when

In my effort to find answer I created a bigger issue. Answer to my Belkin issue was found at the Belkin website. But now due to my own failure to read all the details of acceptance of what I thought was what was necessary to get help; I am into another software 'pay-me' software program costing $10/month or $12+ for one time help of something which is simple to fix (Fix-ya). I got tired of paying Microsoft $25 each time to answer a simple question and often told to re-booth my entire system at 'possibe loss of my info'. When I found the answer and told them what I did to fix my pervious problem they did not credit me or pay me $25. And now there is Fix-ya; NO THANKS. Please remove me from your support group list. Not interested. JB

I purchased a serial port that is not compatable with my sewing machine, I also purchased an updated software with Bernina to make my embroidery machine user friendly. however,I am unable to connect

Problem is that the Bernina software you are using expects to talk to a 'COM port and the PC's USB serial interface doesn't automatically default to a COM port. Make sure you have installed the software that was delivered with your USB-to-Serial adapter and look on your PC's 'Device Manager' under 'Ports' - you should see the USB adapter listed and it should be assigned to a COM Port number. You need to check what COM port numbers are accepted by the Bernina embroidery software (sorry, I cant remember and haven't got one here presently) - it should be in the Options menu. You have to ensure that the USB 'virtual COM port' is the same as that which is set in the Bernina software. If the Bernina software doesn't support the COM port allocated to the USB interface, go to 'Properties, Port settings, Advanced, COM port number and set this to the same as the COM port number in the Bernina software - hopefully this should set up the link OK, provided you haven't got a COM port clash - to avoid this, it's usually best to choose a COM port number of 2 or above.

My Janome customizer 2000 will not write to the scan card. It says that it will not recognize the serial port.

Hi, I have the same problem with mine. Janome have not been very helpful. I didn't know if it was the card or the card reader/writer. I have a Janome CX500. Have you solved any of the problems?

Need to locate Serial USBA adapter for 9000 reader/writer. the plug that goes from the reader/writer to the computer.

You can buy a USB-Serial Adapter at Best Buy for $36. Or, if you want to save money and spend only (roughly) $10, you can buy one on eBay.

They do make them, still, and you can still get them at most computer supply stores.

Hope this helps!!

Pfaff 7570 connection to new XP laptop

In this FAQ list (from PFAFF web) you find 100 times the same question and answer:
H402 My new computer does not have any serial COM ports, so how does it communicate with my Pfaff creative 7570?

You will need to obtain a USB Serial Adapter, which adds a serial port to your computer by plugging it into a USB port. Suitable adapters can be obtained from Belkin [http://www.belkin.com] and Keyspan [http://www.keyspan.com].
The following USB Serial Adapters are known to work with the Pfaff creative 7570:
• Belkin F5U103
• Keyspan USA-19QW
Please note that the Belkin F5U109 is listed as working with the Pfaff creative 2140/2144 (FAQ #H405), but it does not work the Pfaff creative 7570.

I am trying to hook up my singer embroidery machine converter box to my laptop. I think I have to have a specific type of driver on my computer for this, can you help?

Dear Dawn528,

The driver is included with your PSW software and will load automatically when you install the software.

You will need a serial/usb adapter to connect from the machine serial port to your laptop usb port. This will come with a seperate driver that you nee to install.

Good luck
