Since this is an intermittent problem, I would first check the convergence board for cracked solder connections or other loose connectors (or leaky capacitors and diodes). If you still cannot find the problem, you will most likely have to replace the convergence board assembly p/n 264103. It can be quite difficult to re-converge if you do this unless you swap the two eeprom IC's on the original board to the new board IK210 and IK211 then Go Into The Service Menu Geometry And Set V Slope And H Position, Save, Then Back Out To the Customer Menu And Run AutoConvergence.

Red light blinking and no picture on Toshiba Model 65HX81 how do we fix?

Red power light blinking is shutdown--protective mode.

Before buying a remote I would see what is wrong with set.

The most common reason on this model is a short in the convergence circuit--uses two chips----method to see if they are shorted is to locate (not real easy on this model) and unsolder all 18 pins on each chip--if set turns on then(will look bad) one of the chips is gone and both need replacement.

The other issue this set has is bad Hyper boards that cause noise when cold and operate after warmup---more expensive to fix than a convergence problem.

Picture on screen goes out of focus

If attached photos look like what it does it is a convergence problem common in the RCA sets.

Frankly I do not like these sets and if You GOOGLE the model number with "convergence" or "problems" you will a ton of them with that problem.

The real trouble is most sets (even the early RCA) have the convergence circuit almost 100% on one board and use one or two chips for this.

This set has it spread across two or three boards and all the parts are RCA only.

Considering how poorly made that set is I would not if someone gave me one take it or repair it.

The photos will tell you if it is your problem--no two sets look exactly the same but you will know from the pictures if it is your trouble.

Convergance is gone and colors are all off and bent

Sounds like you need new IC chips. You can try setting the convergence, but if it doesn't work, you will need the chips. Make sure they use the expensive, non-Chinese chips as the Chinese ones don't last long. Good luck!

Rca d52w19 convergence hell

Did you replace the convergence board or the convergence power supply board? usually one color will be a problem with the convergence board and more than one color means the convergence power supply is the problem. Ebay isnt a good place for boards as you never know if the board is good. You can get the convergence or the convergence power supply boards at the following link along with free shipping and tech support.

Convergence problems

You also need to unsolder the flyback transformer to trmove the lead free solder and then re-solder it with 60/40 solder to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Convergence chips

The convergence IC or in a sense ,amplifiers and the resistor are output resistors... if they are burning up the current going through them is spiking too high... TO me this is an indication that the "convegence yokes" are shorted. These are coils around the tubes that control convergence. I would suspect maybe that these are shorted to ground somehow. This is my first guess for this problem

My Phillips 60PP9202 60 lost it's blue hue

No sure what you mean the color changed. That could be caused by many reasons, and the most common is a bad convergence chip. Here is my regular response message to convergence problems:

You most likely have a convergence chip bad. In our shop, when we are working on projection TVs, we find that about 80% of the repairs we make are the same problem you are having. You need to replace the convergence chip ( there are 2 of the same chips on the convergence board, and I suggest you replace both ). If you are going to attempt the repair yourself you'll need to remember to use lots of heat sink grease so you don't have the same problem again. Also, try to get original parts, as there are times that the after-market ones don't work well. As a precaution, always remember to unplug the set from the wall before you do any work on the set. Good Luck

Double picture/red shadow

You may need to sinlpy adjust the convergence. Check your owners manuel for the proper way to access the convergence screen and follow it step by step. If this doesn't work, you may have a bad convergence chip. Here is my generic post for convergence.
