I have windows media player which at one time I had to download something that would let my dvd's play and now they want play again and error pops up and says my screen resolution needs to be reduced so i lowered it and it still want play I never had to lower it before.
If you want to play a DVD disc on your computer, try downloading a dvd player program to play the DVD. Windows Media Player is not a DVD player and it is a video player. There are some free DVD player programs that you can try on your PC, such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, POT Player, 5k Player, BlazeDVD, etc.
Maybe your screen resolution needs to be higher? What type of error
message are you getting? Are these dvd's that you were able to play
before? Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and
in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes).
Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download
and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's
a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats
and media. It's totally FREE.
Most computers will have problems playing dvd's that
someone made for you on their computer. Try a store purchased dvd and
see if it plays.
You can always reinstall windows media player at Microsoft's site below.

You
can also try the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've
seen it solve a lot of issues that Media Player could not fix.
You can copy and paste the link above for windows media player or you can click the link below for Microsoft's site to download it.
