You will have to remove the back panel to access this part. Be sure that you unplug the machine before starting. Once the back panel has been taken off and placed aside the thermal switch will be located on the left lower side near the blower housing . It will be thin and long and located near the cycling thermostat that has for prongs on it. On certain machines, the thermal fuse is located in the front. To access this you must remove the kickplate, which can be done by pushing the clips, one on each side jsut above the top of the kickplate, in between the top and abottom portion. The part numbers are the same for either style dryer. To test this part you can either take the wires off it and tie them together then plug the machine back in and see if it heats, or you can use amultimeter and check to see if there is continuity, if there is its good, if not, bad. The thermal fuse will usually be white, and if located in the back, be thin and long with two wires on it, left and right. If in the bottom front, it will be front center on the exhaust duct

SOURCE: Maytag Bravos dryer heats but does not blow air.

Maybe that was in addition..they tell us the air flow is blocked and tell us 2 clean our air duct ..but the dryer was blocked on inside..the repair man claimed the belt was off maybe he was blowing smoke..but these are the kind of people they are sending out..trying to blow off as many appointments so they can get off on time.

SOURCE: Maytag Bravo is not working

There are many different versions of every dryer, and for us to give you the best possible answer, you will need to find the equipment tag on your unit and give us the model number off of it.

That way we can pull the unit up on our system and give you the most accurate answer to your question.

Matag dryer not heating

Here is a link to maytag dryer repairs http://apcoappliancerepair.wordpress.com/?s=maytag+dryer . The most common problem is the thermal fuse. My question is. Does the heating element start to light. If not...... and you have changed the ignitor and thermal fuse. Then check the flame sensor to see if there is continuity threw it. Power to the gas coils and ignitor runs threw the flame sensor. CLICK HERE to see a flame sensor on a GE dryer. They are the same on most units but Maytag will be on the opposite side of burner chamber.

What does "check vent" light require that I do?

Clean your vent all the way from the machine to the outside of the house including the hood or louvres attached to the house outdoors. Don't forget the area behind the lint filter inside machine.

Why is my Maytag Bravo steam dryer leaving my clothes damp

If there is water in the hose, water is getting in through the vent on the outside. Try cleaning where the flap on the vent rests of lint and build up. Also check that the vent is fastened in the ground. If it's loose, water will seep in around the seal and get down into the hose.

My dryer is heating fine but there is no air blowing out of the vent. Therefore, clothes are not drying properly. I have cleaned the lent filter, checked the outside and and inside vent for clogs or...

run the dryer with the vent hose off, if it drys correctly then it is in the vent tube. The best way to clean the vent hose is with a leaf blower, now if it is not drying with the vent hose off then you will need to disassemble the dryer, and clean from the bottom of the lint trap back to the back of the dryer with a brush(paint) and a vacuum:

Gas will come on and heat for a few minutes and then go out

you either have bad gas coils if it heats for the first 15 to 30 minutes and then the flame doesn't lite any more or you need to clean out the dryer because there is a blocked vent line or duct stopping the air from moving through the dryer and then to the outside.you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is and if the vent line is long i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line.unplug the dryer when ever you're working on it

No heat in gas dryer, gas good, elec good??

if the heat is on when the dryer is cold then shuts down after 15 to 30 minutes and doesn't lite for a long while you have bad gas coils, the gas should come on until it hits temp. then it shuts down, when the dryer calls for heat it will turn back on,if it stays on for short periods of time you might need to clean out the dryer, this will shut the gas down to soon, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, blow out the vent line, make sure the air is blowing outside with nothing blocking it and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is
