Question about Toshiba Satellite A105-S4004 Notebook
There were no HW/SW changes made recently, i was working perfectly on the network, then i logged out, the following syptoms: I can't take an IP address from my DHCP server, always limited or no connectivity. I did the following workarounds: Tried to disable then enable the card. insatll a new driver for the card. upgrade the bios. the status of the card, sent but not recieve. tried to give an address with the same settings, but the same behavior, can sent but recieve. can't ping my default gateway. I can ping the 127.0.0.1, and the ip address asgined, but not the gateway, with sent but ot recieve data, status. I installed a new external card, and its working perfectly. Also, i renew my anti virus, scan my computer more than 3 times, with three different anti viruses, with no luck. Could it be a HW failure? Or there are similar situations, someone faced before? Appreciate your fast response.
If you can send packets but not receive, then the hardware is ok, it is a setting on the card that is incorrect or the Windows connection repair has changed the card address. If your router is set at Automatic DHCP then it should give your card the correct IP address and also DNS. In sending your card is trying to communicate with the router but not receiving an answer.

If the wireless is built in with your laptop and not a pcmcia or usb peripheral, check to see if you can get it to work with Windows Zero Configuration, which is Windows own wireless software.
You should be able to enable this in the wireless connection properties.
If you have already tried this then maybe it's time on this planet is over.
